Private License Plate Scanners

Most of the license plate scanners are operated by private companies who have access to DMV ,police, courts, child support, bank, finance company, and NCIC databases.

These companies have no right to the personal information contained in these databases. Citizens do not have the right to access all of this information in these databases,it is a huge invasion of privacy.

The companies and their employees having access to these databases is wide open to corruption, they could use the data for many things that are in no way legal, and are in fact criminal, such as blackmail, accepting bribes from jealous ex wives and husbands, car loan companies could bribe employees for location data on cars they are looking for,-as described in the article-it’s a long, drawn out process to repo a car. Bribe an employee who has access to the data, and the guy finds the car without going through the courts, takes the car back, then sorts it out in court.

So it could allow the repo companies to skirt the law, private investigators could bribe employees of these companies to track the travels of people they are investigating, stalkers and jealous ex’s could use the data they get from the person they bribe to harrass their ex husband or wife, and on and on and on.

This is way beyond 1984,between “traffic cameras”,the NSA hoovering up every e-mail,tweet,text,and phone call you make, along with all your banking activity, internet browsing history, and tracking your location 24/7 from your “smart phone”-you have zero privacy unless you disconnect yourself from the matrix, don’t use anything but burner phones, and stay off the ‘net entirely-I’m sure the NSA can even track Tor users by now.

Police Raid Roundup

One of the most absurd…

“In a case we’ve been following here at The Watch, an Illinois judge just ruled that police in Peoria did not violate the Fourth Amendment when they raided a home to unmask the identity of the person who had been operating a Twitter account that parodied the town’s mayor. Let me reiterate to highlight the absurdity: A judge has ruled that the police did nothing wrong when they raided a home because someone making fun of the mayor on Twitter.”

H/T- WRSA

“We have historically been a paramilitary organization,” observed Indianapolis Police Chief Rick Hite during a September 17 City Council meeting. “And we serve whoever sits in that chair, regardless of race, gender, creed, or political party. I don’t know what we would do if we had to go to battle, and we had to make a determination, based on past practices, whether or not we wanted to go into battle. … I am a soldier in an army. We serve you in that way…. We should not be in a position where we’re going to have to decide how we’re going to police this city.”

Hite spoke those words in a largely empty chamber, to an audience drawn entirely from Indianapolis’s political class. True, the budget meeting was open to the public, which could attend in person, monitor a live broadcast online, or watch an archived video of the proceedings later. But few, if any, city residents were likely to endure the two-and-a-half-hour-long barrage of bureaucratese that provided the prelude to Hite’s candid invocation of fuhrerprinzip – modified, in this case, to express unqualified loyalty to an oligarchy, rather than a single “leader.”

“State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens revealed a few more details about the manhunt for Eric Frein, saying trackers have discovered items he hid or abandoned in the woods — including an AK-47 assault rifle and ammunition they believe he had been carrying while on the run.”

Probably left it as a decoy. It’s taken them 9 days to find this rifle, and whatever else they found. Shit just doesn’t add up right in this case-there’s something the state police are not releasing.

Utah to BLM: Rein in your cops

“Dan Love, BLM’s special agent in charge for Utah and Nevada, is the target of numerous complaints by rural Utah sheriffs who blame his unwillingness to respect local authorities for a rupture in their relations with BLM law enforcement. State officials have asked BLM to replace Love, pictured here in 2009 while leading a federal raid on the Blanding home of James and Jeanne Redd. Love supervised the undercover operation into illegal artifact trafficking which the Redd family alleges led to James Redd’s suicide. BLM special agent Dan Love was among the federal agents and archaelogists to search and remove artifacts from the Redd house in Blanding on Tuesday. He is at the front gate that leads to the Redd house.”

“Public Enemy No. 1 for rural Utah sheriffs just happens to be a fellow peace officer: Dan Love, the Bureau of Land Management’s special agent in charge.

Elected law enforcement officers from Nephi to Blanding call him an arrogant and dishonest bully who has little regard for local authority and dodges accountability, derailing a collaborative approach to police work on the state’s federal lands.

Love reportedly just laughed when Garfield County Sheriff James “Danny” Perkins relayed ranchers’ complaints about federal officers removing plastic feed tubs from the range and threatening the ranchers with litter citations.

He drew early controversy during an undercover probe of artifacts trafficking in Blanding in 2009. More recently, Love led the BLM’s aborted roundup of Cliven Bundy’s cattle following an armed standoff with anti-government protesters at the Utah-Nevada border.”
