  1. Sad isn’t it when such a detailed impassioned address has to be directed to the grunts and not the leaders.
Appealing to their sense of duty and honor.
Only too far down the food chain to make a difference in my humble opinion.

The essay was good yet too long a read for the average reader.
As for congress? Can any of them read apart from a menu?
    Why do I say that?
Because if it ain’t “tweet” sized today, government just switch off.
Now what does that say about modern times and government!

It lacks impact when this would probably have been more effective:-

“If you vote against gun control we’ll give each of you a million bucks”.

You want any government to pay attention and react to something?
That’s usually what it takes, money, not good policy or commonsense
Rather like how the UK government works.
Here you can buy most any government official as a number of media ‘stings’ have proven.

Anyway did I not read once something that was “tweet” sized and probably a way to stop this decay?.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
    Thomas Jefferson

    Sounded like a good man.
    Sound of judgment.
A few words, easy to read, and well said.
    Dead ‘tweet-able” too.
