Amazing what you find reading through old magazines in Dr’s offices…

The article goes into detail about how to make everything, except the electric motor, which you’ll have to buy or scavenge off of something-like an old washing machine.
Inexpensive to build, saves a ton of time sifting compost-beats the hell out of the wooden frame with rabbit wire I put over my wheelbarrow.
Article even includes instructions on how to reduce the speed of the motor so the drum turns slow enough.
Worth your time to check out-you could also make it so it would be turned by a hand crank-or something similar-for times when there’s no power.
Just a thought but whatcha going to use to power it when the lights go out?

The same thing I said could be used in the post 🙂

You could set it up so it would work with a hand crank,or even use a bicycle to power the drum.
I’m sure there will be plenty of bicycles and parts around to scavenge after a SHTF event.

Noted. I’m very much “old technology”, small scale, using a hand sieve. (Batteries not included).
There again if a big die off has occurred, I will just be using someone else’s already dug veg garden.
