So….How Far CAN You Carry Your SHTF Pack?

    Today, carrying my little 11 kg (4 kg of that is water) day sack, on foot?
    2 miles tops in the morning, maybe another two in the afternoon.
    Why only that? I’m old and knackered.

    Though the thing about getting older is you just occasionally get wiser.
    Thus I don’t carry heavy, I trundle it using a trolley. So that’s now 18 miles a day.

    Except I don’t even need to do that.
    6 hour day, I can cover 24 miles without breaking sweat and moving 6 1/2 tons. We live on a boat. Untie 3 mooring lines and away we go.
    No traffic jams, no strain, and little chance of being stopped.
    As for carrying water? 160 litres stored in on board tanks.

    Total range on one tank of fuel? 250 miles.
    Power plant is a low-tech old school normally aspirated Diesel.
    That will burn anything from heating oil to bio (cooking oil), and frequently does.
