NOTE: I do not wish to be mistaken as directly addressing anyone with this post.  Therefore, I beg the reader to read it as though I were talking to myself aloud.

How is it that so many people in the West these days refuse to accept reality?  One of the things that confuses me most is how so many people can ignore the threat Islam poses to our society.  They see it — they hear the threats Muslims make — but they tell themselves it isn’t true.  Muslims do not really mean what they are saying.  How often have we seen this in history?  Hitler told people what he was going to do, and no one believed him.  Obama told America he was going to “fundamentally change the nation,” and no one believed him.  Well, both of them did exactly what they promised, and the world suffered, still suffers for…

Here’s the shocker sentence from this article: “The number of non-Defense Department federal officers authorized to make arrests and carry firearms (200,000) now exceeds the number of U.S. Marines (182,000).” From Michael Krieger at libertyblitzkrieg.com:

Here we go again. Stuck in the aftermath of a horrific shooting and all politicians think to do is scheme about how to take more rights from the citizenry. There are no good guys here. The Democrats want to railroad over due process by denying firearms to people on Orwellian watch lists, while Republicans plot to give the FBI more warrantless surveillance powers. This is the authoritarian knee-jerk response to tragedy we get from the U.S Congress.

Hypocritically, when it comes to foreign policy, all we hear are incessant calls for more militarism, more war and more regime change. As I warned in yesterday’s post, Is the Syrian War About to Experience a Major Escalation?…

From SLL, “You Say You Want a Devolution?” 4/29/16:

The most important election this year is the British referendum June 23 on EU membership. The EU has followed the US’s disastrous policies in the Middle East and Northern Africa and has been unable to deal with the refugee and terrorist blowback from those policies. It has no strategy for resolving the issues stemming from the debt of its de facto bankrupt members, other than have the ECB buy it. Growth has been smothered by taxes, regulations, cronyism, and monetary idiocy. European youth have the “opportunity” to pay some of the world’s highest tax rates to fund the world’s most generous welfare state benefits. Those looking for other opportunities—private sector jobs, leaving home, starting families, building wealth—must look elsewhere.

Why would Great Britain want to plight its troth with this gang of incompetents? Why would anyone think it can’t…

This is a perfect lead in to our next post.

No Fly, No Buy’ Means No Freedom

The people in the government who want to control our personal choices are the enemies of freedom. And the enemies of freedom can be very clever and seductive.

Last week, these folks, manifesting their lust to keep us dependent upon the government by rejecting the natural right to self-defense, coined a clever phrase: “No fly, no buy.” It sounds rational, yet it rejects core American values.

The phrase was pounded home to average Americans during a one-sided 15-hour televised marathon on the floor of the Senate orchestrated by the gun control crowd. The essence of the argument was that stricter laws regarding gun sales would have prevented the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. In gun control advocates’ dream world, the self-loathing Islamic State-inspired killer, willing…
