Driving through rural Ohio on the way to and from deer hunting on Sat,we saw a lot of farms for sale-several that have been there since I first started hunting the area back in the mid 1970’s.
It’s not due to development, the only new buildings in the area are a few modular homes, and a Dollar General Store-no McMansions,no Wal-Marts.
Even a lot of the old farmhouses are for sale. Some are because the parents have passed away, and the son or sons built their own homes elsewhere on the same farmland-the others-who knows.
Some of the farms for sale have been there since the early 1900’s. They survived the ’80’s family farm sell-off.
Not sure what’s going on now,but it ain’t anything good.
