Here’s some history that’s been erased: the Klu Klux Klan was closely allied with southern Democrats, who dominated southern politics, kept any meaningful civil rights legislation bottled up for decades, and fought tooth and nail against public school integration. It would be nice if that clear historical fact got one-tenth the coverage of the demands that memorials to all things Southern and Confederate be torn down. Maybe build a memorial to all the blacks who were oppressed and terrorized by the Klan’s and Democrats’ Jim Crow laws and lynching for so many years. From Patrick J. Buchanan at buchanan.org:
