I fully agree with him. So many laws- and .gov regulations are now ” felonies” that it’s absurd.
Most of these are non violent crimes.
Unless a person was convicted of using a firearm during the commission of a violent crime- an actual crime of violence not some trumped up by police and prosecutor fictional account of the crime-then no one should have their gun rights taken from them.
Actually if someone is so mu h of a ” threat to society” that they can’t be trusted with a firearm- then why aren’t they still in jail?
I also agree with his 5 years since release with no new felony convictions. Prison/ jail is the punishment for the crime- not lifetime loss of rights.
