Posted: December 27, 2018 by gamegetterII in UncategorizedTyranny never takes a day off, even when the government is shut down. From John Whitehead at rutherford.org:
“There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than a government of incompetent, corrupt, or vile men.”—Ludwig von Mises
The government has shut down again.
At least, parts of the government have temporarily shut down over President Trump’s demand for a $5 billion border wall.
Yet while these political games dominate news headlines, send the stock market into a nosedive, and put more than 800,000 federal employees at risk of having to work without pay, nothing about this government shutdown will diminish the immediate and very real dangers of the American Police State with its roadside strip searches, government surveillance, biometric databases, citizens being treated like terrorists, imprisonments for criticizing the government, national ID cards, SWAT team raids, censorship, forcible blood draws and DNA extractions, private prisons, weaponized drones…

A little review of the 14th Amendment shows us that it accomplished certain ends consistent with Yankee/Marxist revolutionary aims for both the War of Northern Aggression and for the period after that revolution. We ought to get used to referring to it as a revolution for, in truth, it was the first American Revolution.
It was a revolution in which God-given liberties were exchanged for “privileges and immunities” granted by an all-powerful federal government in Washington. After the shooting phase of that revolution was over the United States played the part of Esau on a national scale. We traded our God-given birthright for a mess of federal pottage, and now we weep, as did Esau, because we do not have God’s blessing. In fact, if you read Patrick Henry, a case might be made that we did the…

Door Knock Gun Control: New Jersey Gun Confiscation Begins | Flopping Aces
Posted: December 27, 2018 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized“President Obama and President Trump were both right, Obama when he told us elections have consequences and Trump in his 2018 stump speech that a consequence of Democrat victories would be renewed attacks on the Second Amendment. New Jersey’s ban on high capacity magazines has been upheld by a federal court, opening the door to door knock gun confiscation and making off-duty police officers subject to criminal prosecution. The inmates are officially running the asylum.”

Over One Million Gun Owners Refuse to Obey Ban, No One Turning in Magazine, by Matt Agorist
Posted: December 25, 2018 by gamegetterII in UncategorizedHere’s some Christmas cheer: civil disobedience over a stupid gun law. From Matt Agorist at thefreethoughtproject.com:
New Jersey — Unless you’ve been under a rock lately, then you’ve likely seen the unprecedented push by all levels of government to separate law abiding Americans from their guns. No, this is not some conspiracy theory. The president himself ushered in a new level of gun control doing what his liberal predecessor even refused to do by banning bump stocks. However, as states across the country seek to limit the ability of innocent people to defend themselves, people are disobeying.
In May, Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law that reduced the maximum capacity of ammunition magazines from 15 rounds to 10. Citizens immediately sued the government, citing the unconstitutional nature of the ban, but they failed.
“New Jersey’s law reasonably fits the State’s interest in public safety and does not unconstitutionally burden…

Wishing my readers a merry Christmas.
May you all enjoy the day with your families and friends.
Remember why we celebrate Christmas.
Be thankful for what you have.
Summa Theologica
Most of us have done something terribly wrong to another person. We realized it at the time or afterwards. For those with an intact conscience, there was overwhelming shame and a burning, seemingly inextinguishable guilt. Perhaps there was an admission, maybe to the victim, from whom forgiveness was asked. Perhaps there was only self-confession. If the shame overwhelmed and the guilt burned deeply, there may have been a redemptive pledge not to commit the same transgression and to improve a deficient character.
No one caught in throes of such a wrenching experience would characterize his emotional state as happiness. Indeed, depending on the transgression and the emotional reaction, happiness might have seemed forever out of reach.
If a tormented conscience makes one miserable, doesn’t that suggest that a clean conscience is necessary for more salutary emotions? Conscience is often thought of as an internal control system, allowing us to…

GAO: Background checks STILL don’t work | The Zelman Partisans
Posted: December 24, 2018 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized“This just screams for comment, given that universal preemptively-prove-your-innocence prior restraint is probably going to pass next year.
GAO: Few Individuals Denied Firearms Purchases Are Prosecuted and ATF Should Assess Use of Warning Notices in Lieu of Prosecutions
Federal and selected state law enforcement agencies that process firearm-related background checks through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) collectively investigate and prosecute a small percentage of individuals who falsify information on a firearms form (e.g., do not disclose a felony conviction) and are denied a purchase. Federal NICS checks resulted in about 112,000 denied transactions in fiscal year 2017, of which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) referred about 12,700 to its field divisions for further investigation. U.S. Attorney’s Offices (USAO) had prosecuted 12 of these cases as of June 2018.
CNN is reporting this as “More than 99.9% of those who were investigated escaped with nothing more than a warning.”
But that’s misleading. It’s far, far worse than that.”
