Washington: Anti-Gun Group Announces 2019 Agenda

Posted: December 10, 2018 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized

” On December 5th, the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, a group backed by out-of-state elites, announced it will pursue its most extreme anti-gun legislative agenda to date during the upcoming 2019 Washington Legislative Session.

This comes less than one month after the Alliance for Gun Responsibility and Seattle tech-billionaires spent millions to pass Initiative 1639, which made the state’s gun control laws amongst the worst in nation.

Some of the most egregious restrictions in the Alliance for Gun Responsibility’s 2019 agenda includes the following:

  • Standard Capacity Magazine Ban: Targets commonly owned standard capacity ammunition magazines by arbitrarily branding them as “High Capacity Magazines,” and restricts access for self-defense purposes.
  • Government Mandated Training to Obtain CPL: Would require all new applicants and renewing holders of a concealed pistol license show documentation they have completed a firearms safety course
  • Abolish State Preemption: Washington’s state preemption statute, passed in 1983, helps keep firearm and ammunition laws consistent throughout the state by establishing that the State Legislature has full authority to regulate and create laws pertaining to firearms and ammunition. These statutes help prevent a confusing patchwork of gun control laws which make it difficult for gun owners to ensure that they are following the law and also protects the Second Amendment rights of all Washingtonians, regardless of where they reside.
  • Remove Second Amendment Rights without due process: Impose a firearm prohibition for any person who has been released from a 72-hour mental health evaluation. This type of legislation removes a constitutional right without any mental health adjudication or judicial determination, and without any due process of law.
  • Expand “Gun-Free Zones” to child care facilities and early learning centers: This type of policy creates arbitrary boundaries around areas where law-abiding individuals are prohibited from carrying a firearm for self-defense. These arbitrary boundaries do not deter criminals.
  • Firearm Destruction by Washington State Patrol: Allows for the destruction of all firearms confiscated by or forfeited to the Washington State Patrol. Like other seized items, these firearms should be sold by law-enforcement to generate revenue instead of spending money to have them destroyed.
  • Require Reporting of Lost or Stolen Firearms by setting a timeframe for when they must be reported under penalty of law: Individuals should not be further victimized after experiencing a burglary or other loss.”

Christian Mercenary: The Truth Remains

Is there anyone left in the nation who believes that we are still a republic? That your vote has not been tampered with, either through outright switching or disenfranchisement through cramming the ballot box with illegal votes? Is there a sense that this vote manipulation has led to a fraudulent outcome that has destroyed the concept of Congressional representation? Is there any sense that there is an equal justice system complete with due process and limitations on government power, or is that reserved for government employees and the wealthy? Is it still possible to object to the globalization of power without being considered a criminal? Is it possible to speak your mind in any venue without incurring civil or criminal liabilities? Is it possible to speak your mind in any venue without the possibility of being physically attacked? Is there any way to opt-out of the surveillance conducted by government and even software programs? Is there any sense that your rights and opinions will be evaluated on a par with anyone else, or are there special citizens who must be accommodated above your concerns and even at your expense? Do you feel like ultimately the government will abolish Christianity and accommodate Islam? Do you feel as though the taxes you are legally obligated to pay are being used in a responsible and thoughtful manner?

“One of the points I’ve stressed for a long time is the value found in using simple equipment to the maximum of its potential. Whatever it might be, optics to weapons to electronics, my own combat experience has fostered an appreciation for Keeping It Simple, Stupid. And that’s the very paradigm I teach my classes from- taking what’s common and simple to understand and learning the techniques of using it to its peak potential. The same is true for building signals intelligence capabilities among preppers and/or potential partisans. Not that long ago the RAND Corporation published a white paper on the very topic; what they found was that not only does the capability exist to monitor most real-world threats in any given environment, anyone can do it.”

During our market scan, we found examples of SIGINT capabilities outside of government that are available to anyone. The capabilities we found have applications in maritime domain awareness; radio frequency (RF) spectrum mapping; eavesdropping, jamming, and hijacking of satellite communications; and cyber surveillance. Most of these capabilities are commercially available, many are free, and some are illegal. In our view, the existence of both legal and illegal markets and capabilities results in an environment where SIGINT has been democratized, or available to anyone.

Gun-Control Fails in California..and We Lose

Sociologists and criminologists rendered their verdict. Gun-control in California doesn’t work. That should have been obvious in hindsight. Unfortunately, these failed laws will probably not be rescinded by lawmakers nor be overturned by judges. Since Californians won’t change things at the ballot box, they are going to have to vote with their feet to restore their rights.

What we now know about gun-control-

This recent report on gun-control was issued by a number of academics, including the researcher funded by the state of California in their Violence Prevention Research Program. This is hardly a right wing policy piece purchased by gun manufacturers. The report compared data from California with data from other states that did not impose gun-control laws. Rates of homicide with a gun and suicide did not decrease compared to those other states used as a control group. There was no significant change despite the gun-control laws being…

NRA-ILA | Guns and Taxes

David Hogg wants a federal tax on firearms and ammunition. He has repeatedly broached the idea, including multiple times on Twitter, and only sometimes suggests a use for the tax revenue. Hogg’s tweets on a federal gun tax include references to implementing the same sort of licensing and permitting requirements as the government requires to drive a car or funding “gun violence” research.

We’ve previously addressed the problem with comparing “gun violence” and motor vehicle accidentsor smoking, and the problem with anti-gun research, so we’ll focus exclusively on Hogg’s tax idea.

Except it isn’t Hogg’s idea. The idea of a tax on firearms and ammunition predates Hogg by about a hundred years. A moment on Google would have shown Mr. Hogg as much.

The Firearms and Ammunition Excise Tax (FAET) was first imposed in 1919. In 1937, the Pittman-Robertson Act directed all revenue from FAET and related excise taxes to be used for hunting-related activities. The FAET includes a 10% tax on the sale price of pistols and revolvers and 11% of the sale price of other firearms and ammunition, and 11% tax on archery equipment. The tax is applied whether or not the equipment is likely to be used for hunting. The U.S. Department of the Treasury Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau provides an informative reference guide, and the Congressional Research Service compiled a report on the tax and relevant legislative proposals just this past March.

The Pittman-Robertson Act fundsacquisition and improvement of wildlife habitat, introduction of wildlife into suitable habitat, research into wildlife problems, surveys and inventories of wildlife problems, acquisition and development of access facilities for public use, and hunter education programs, including construction and operation of public target ranges.

More than $12 billion has been collected under the Pittman-Robertson Act of 1937, including more than $761 million in fiscal year 2017 alone. Revenues from the tax are placed into the Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund and distributed to the states and U.S. territories.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry trade association, put together an informative video about how the excise tax supports conservation efforts and an infographic showing how the money collected from under the Act has impacted species. Spoiler alert: the white-tailed deer population went from 500,000 in 1900 to 32 million today, and the waterfowl population grew from few to 44 million. There are similar success stories for other species, all made possible through the excise tax on firearms and ammunition.”

Robert Gore's avatarSTRAIGHT LINE LOGIC

Jeremiah Johnson outlines dire threats to liberty and the American way of life. From Johnson at shtfplan.com:

In previous articles, I outlined the three methods the globalists are most likely to use (in order of preference) to finish off the U.S. and usher in their Globalist-Corporatist-Oligarchic world government. They are as such:

  1. A lethal bio-engineered virus
  2. An Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) “Event” – defined as either an attack by a foreign entity (such as North Korea, China, or Russia), or a “domestic self-infliction” subsequently blamed on one or more of the listed former.
  3. A nuclear war

For skeptics and rabid naysayers who attacked previous articles regarding the threat posed by North Korea outlined over the past several years, information from the U.S. Air Force was posted the other day that may make you want to “reanalyze” your stance. As I mentioned before, I’m just the messenger: the information has been…
