Army Secures $480 Million Deal For Next-Generation Camo That “Defeats All Known Sensors” | Zero Hedge

The US Army has chosen Fibrotex to manufacture the services Next-Generation Ultra-Light Camouflage Netting System (ULCANS) to protect its special forces on the modern battlefield from electro-optical and electromagnetic threats.

The ULCANS will be an all-weather, state-of-the-art signature concealment system that provides multi-spectral protection for troops and equipment.

Stealth Solutions

According to Jane’s 360, a November 07 press release from the company detailed a 10-year contract valued at $480 million with series production starting in early 2019.

“Today more than ever military forces and opposition groups are using night-vision sensors and thermal devices against our troops, but by using Fibrotex’s camouflage, concealment, and deception solutions we make them undetectable again, allowing them to continue keeping us safe,” said company CEO Eyal Malleron.

“The US Army tested our best camouflage solutions and the camouflage repeatedly demonstrated the ability to defeat all sensors known to be operating in the battlefield and throughout the electromagnetic spectrum,”

… of politics. We just got our mid-terms over with which means we’ll catch about a 2 month break before we start seeing ads for the 2020 elections.
Fuck that.

Up until about 15-20 years ago, I never thought about politics. I never worried about them. When it came time for elections, I’d start studying up on the candidates a couple weeks beforehand and my one and only criteria for who I’d vote for was determined by one thing and one thing only – gun control. But when you stop to think about it, it’s a pretty good guideline for any Freedom loving person. For the most part (the key word here is ‘most’) if a candidate supported gun control then they were for higher taxes to pay for the unrealistic services they promised, they were against small businesses, they were for damned near anything that they can use to control your life. Not theirs, yours.

Once I really started thinking about it, it didn’t take me long to figure out that Republicans and Democrats are the same fucking thing, they just wear different hats. A politician is a politician is a politician. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your vote. Before you get all up in arms over that last statement, take a look at our last two Republican presidents. Uh-huh.”

Surprise: Physician Group Rehashes Same Tired Gun Control Policies

Everyone has hobbies. Some doctors’ collective hobby is opining on firearms policy. Half of the articles in the “Latest from Annals” email from the Annals of Internal Medicine journal are related to firearms.

The most prominent of these articles is a position paper written by the American College of Physicians (ACP) that expands upon their 2014 paper and reflects every anti-gunner’s public policy wish list, save for the outsized role given to doctors. The ACP’s policy recommendations include a ban on semiautomatic firearms and “high” (read: standard) capacity magazines, licensing and permitting requirements, improved reporting to NICS, restrictions on concealed carry, and so on. None of the ACP’s policy recommendations focus on law enforcement or the importance of identifying, prosecuting, and incarcerating criminals. As Philip J. Cook notes in his commentary, “It is unfortunate that the public health community has not recognized the importance of policing gun violence as a key aspect of prevention.”

Worked on a charter fishing boat on lake Erie, and been on boats in all of the great lakes.

I would rather be on a boat in a storm on the Atlantic than on a boat on any of the great lakes.

“The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have hidden an undisclosed number of covert surveillance cameras inside streetlights around the country, federal contracting documents reveal.

According to government procurement data, the DEA has paid a Houston, Texas company called Cowboy Streetlight Concealments LLC roughly $22,000 since June 2018 for “video recording and reproducing equipment.” ICE paid out about $28,000 to Cowboy Streetlight Concealments over the same period of time.”

Lawmakers Drafting Bill That Would Allow Social Media Checks Before Gun Purchase

“NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Two New York lawmakers are working to draft a bill that would propose a social media check before a gun purchase.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and state Sen. Kevin Palmer’s proposal would allow authorities to review three years of social media history and one year of internet search history of any person seeking to purchase a firearm.

A three-year review of a social media profile would give an easy profile of a person who is not suitable to hold and possess a fire arm,” Adams explains.

The two are hoping to identify any hate speech on social media profiles, which are often revealed only after someone is arrested in a mass shooting.”
