Personal arms played a vital role in the forming of our country. The very idea that a singular human being by the very nature of its existence was justified in using force to preserve that life, and that only tyrannical forms of government would interfere with that process is central to our culture and laws. Firearms carried by individuals, who organized themselves into fighting units not sanctioned by any governmental authority formed the vast majority of warriors who fought in the 8 year long War for Independence. Rifles were central tools to many of the elite warriors known then as “Riflemen”, just as important as the Katana was to the Samurai in feudal Japan. Rifles of the day reflected modern technology which had advanced quite a bit from the era of swords. In recent decades however there has been much controversy in American society over certain firearms referred to as “assault rifles”. There are those that argue for and against restrictions or outlawing ownership of such weapons. While the illegality of any such laws or regulations in these United States is obvious to anyone with a moderate degree of legal or scholarly honesty, what is not clear is what an assault rifle actually is, or what it does. Every once in a while someone says something so outlandish and ridiculous that while I know everyone else will make similar comments to mine, I can not stop myself.

Today, Barack Obama, in Paris, France, stated that shootings like the one in Colorado Springs just doesn’t happen in other countries. No, Barack, in other countries they shoot 130 people, like recent events some place far, far away like Paris, France. You might have heard of it. That is the sort of thing that happens in other countries and why we do not want people who might do that to us to come here.

But, let’s take a look at what happens in “other countries.”

In Mexico, if one runs afoul of the Narco-statists, they get their hands and heads chopped off and left in the dirt. They get kidnapped and ransomed back to their families for as much as they can get, so they can buy some of those weapons that the Obama Administration so infamously funneled to the Narco-statists.

In Syria and other Muslim nations daughters are stoned to death for flirting with a boy, but those deaths are not totaled up, because they are accepted and even expected of the father to do so.

3. a theory that regards the absence of all direct or coercive government as a political ideal and that proposes the cooperative and voluntary association of individuals and groups as the principal mode of organized society.
4. confusion; chaos; disorder: Intellectual and moral anarchy followed his loss of faith.

Again and again, people are shocked and frightened by even the hint of the elimination of large swaths, wholesale portions and the complete abolition of government at every level.  I do not advocate for reduction or cost effectiveness, I advocate for the complete withdrawal of government and its attendant violence out of lives.  I have mentioned before that there is no such thing as limited government; that is simply the hothouse for the future prosperity of the expansion of government after the last totalitarian enterprise has collapsed of its own contradictions.

I do advocate self-government but that is the only self-limiting government in human affairs. Mind you, this is a dystopian vision in which the individuals, businesses and entities will fail and even perish but is nothing compared to the bureaucratized slaughter that has been the story of man for time immemorial under the illusion that GOVERNMENT COERCION AND VIOLENCE IS THE SOLE ORGANIZING PRINCIPLE OF HUMANITY.

I want to take the time today to illustrate why anarchy is no stranger in human affairs and is, in fact, the ordinary everyday principle by which most of us conduct our business. Turn the usual question on its head: the state is the unnatural shackling of your friends and neighbors to the verities of the ruling classes and their armaments to enforce obedience and create fear for non-compliance.
