I use the Hornady XTP’s in my muzzleloader, .45 240 gr with .50 cal. crush rib sabots pushed by either 2 50gr Triple7 pellets or 95 gr of Triple7 FFFG loose powder.
Every deer hit with an XTP drops quickly.I did have one go around 50-60 yds, then he had the nerve to drop dead in a creek, in NE Ohio,in Dec.
I shot that deer from about 30 yds-couldn’t believe it when he ran that far.
That’s the farthest I’ve had a deer go,most have dropped either where they stood,or within 15 yds.
The 50-60yds made no sense,as the bullet hit both lungs-and went through the heart-lungs were pretty much liquified-just whitetail adrenaline I guess.

Posted: August 28, 2015 by gamegetterII in UncategorizedIf you don’t know map&compass/land nav-read part 1 and this post-it’s something everyone should know.
In part 1 we discussed maps. Previously we have discussed navigatiion without a compass. Now lets discuss how to use a compass along with your map to get you from point A to point B.
My Radio Research Library (or at least the essential books)
Posted: August 27, 2015 by gamegetterII in UncategorizedBooks your comms guy should have-you do have a comms guy right?
and an electronics repair guy as well?
If not elect one,and the rest of your tribe can learn from him-or her.
The Patriot Canteen/mass feeding project is still in the works, some equipment has been purchased, the owners now have the info needed to set up the MKT,and run a foodservice operation out of it.
What they do not have is all of the equipment needed,or the funds to purchase the rest of what’s needed.
These guys made the initial investment by purchasing the MKT-anyone in their AO should be supporting this project-it could end up being the only place you can get a hot meal.
People not in the AO should be supporting the project as well.
I’ve got very limited $$$ this year,as it rained for almost the entire month of June, and the first week of July in NE Ohio. Everyone who makes a living working outside is way behind, and made a whole lot less than usual due to the shitty weather we had-yet I scraped up $25.00 and kicked in to help this project succeed.
And I live about 700 miles away.
When SHTF or there’s a grid down emergency due to natural disaster, economic collapse-whatever-you’d better hope someone in your AO has a MKT or similar set-up all stocked up and ready to roll because you ain’t gonna survive very long on MRE’s or Mountain House,or beans and rice.
SHTF/grid down situations are stressful-your body needs proper nutrition even more when under stress.
The military knows this-that’s the reason the MKT exists-to get hot chow to front line troops-those in forward bases,SF camps, etc.
Besides the owners-there are two guys who have over 50 years of experience feeding large groups of people-as both of us were executive chefs in hotels and private country clubs-we are helping with this project because we know the importance of hot meals and proper nutrition-and we know how to prep, cook, hold, and serve large groups of people- all while following proper sanitation procedures during all phases of the operation-which means we won’t get people sick.
Those who try feeding large groups of people without the knowledge and experience WILL get people sick-your group/tribe ain’t gonna be able to do much when they’ve got the screamin squirts comin out of their rear ends because some clueless dolt gave them food poisoning.
There’s a reason that in both the military and civilian world-those in charge of foodservice operations have a hell of a lot of training and experience-it’s not like Thanksgiving dinner at your aunt Millie’s house-or your fourth of July BBQ.
There are procedures/rules/regs that MUST be followed. Those who don’t know them and attempt to feed large groups of people are going to see their tribe spending a lot of time runnin for the woods,or the porta potties,or latrines with rolls of TP in their hands.
No one feels this is an important project?
No one thinks hot, nutritious food is important to your long-term survival?
No one’s willing to give up a couple Mountain Dews,or a six-pack of beer to kick in $5.00?
Everyone is to poor, too broke to kick in a lousy $5.00
I’m poor,I’m broke,but I kicked in $25.00
Come on people-let’s get this one done-then it can be used as the example for any AO in the country-but we can’t give that example unless we get this one done.

War Journalists Labeled Spies, Unprivileged Belligerents. That’s What A New Pentagon Manual Calls Some War Reporters
Posted: August 26, 2015 by gamegetterII in UncategorizedByLorra B.
US defense Secretary, Ash Carter, is being asked by Reporters Without Borders (RWB) to amend a new Pentagon manual that is labeling war journalists as spies, unprivileged belligerents and saboteurs.
Is this new manual an indication the U.S. government is openly marking journalists who challenge Washington’s objectives?
An open letter was published by RWB to Carter about the Law of War Manual. The manual has infuriated reporters “for saying war reporters may be held liable for ‘engaging in hostilities’ or spying, sabotage and similar acts behind enemy lines’,” according toThe Guardian.
TheWar Manual, was published on June 24 and is 1,176 pages of revisions, the first revisions since 1956.
The revisions include terminology marking journalists stating “in general, journalists are civilians,” and that in some instances these reporters may be viewed as “unprivileged belligerents.”
But what does unprivileged belligerents really…

New UN Privacy Chief Proclaims – UK Digital Surveillance is “Worse than Orwell,”

From Michael Krieger at libertyblitzkrieg.com:
Cannataci says we are dealing with a world even worse that anything Orwell could have foreseen. “It’s worse,” he said. “Because if you look at CCTV alone, at least Winston was able to go out in the countryside and go under a tree and expect there wouldn’t be any screen, as it was called. Whereas today there are many parts of the English countryside where there are more cameras than George Orwell could ever have imagined. So the situation in some cases is far worse already.
– UN Privacy chief, Joseph Cannataci
The UN special rapporteur on privacy, Joseph Cannataci, pulls no punches when it comes to privacy. It’s hard to disagree with what he has to say.
From the Guardian:
The first UN privacy chief has said the world needs a Geneva convention style law for the internet to safeguard data and combat the threat of massive clandestine digital surveillance.

Plant food plots long enough, and eventually you’ll have one go belly-up on you. The rain doesn’t fall, the sun doesn’t shine, or for some other reason the stuff just doesn’t grow well enough to reach its potential.
Earlier this summer, my hunting buddy Alan and I planted a soybean plot that we hoped would attract deer during Minnesota’s December archery and muzzleloader seasons. We got the beans in plenty early, but then we got busy—and, well, we flat-out forgot to spray them with herbicide at the appropriate time. By the time we discovered our mistake, grasses and weeds had overrun the plot. The beans were there, but they weren’t going to produce much forage without immediate help.
We hit the plot immediately with Roundup, and then took another look 10 days later. Some of the beans recovered nicely, but nearly half the plot was not mature enough to produce a good pod, and there were plenty of bare patches where grass and weeds had simply out-competed the beans.
So we were in a kind of limbo-land. We could plow under the plot and start over, but that would kill the beans that were doing fine. With any potential killing frosts several weeks away, we ultimately decided that supplementing a food plot with additional seed was the way to go.
