Our children live in a world where they pass through a military-style checkpoint every morning and afternoon for school. Every time their parents take them to Tucson shopping. Every time they go to a friends house in Amado, or to Karate in Sahuarita. Men carry guns, dogs bark, lights flash.

Amado, AZ — In one of the most uplifting acts of civil disobedience this year, the residents of Arivaca, Arizona showed an astonishing level of dedication to freedom. Approximately 100 residents turned out for the public hearing in which citizens demanded the unconstitutional and heavily militarized checkpoint, more than 25 miles inland on Arivaca road be shut down.

According to BorderCommunityAction.org:

Community members called on US Congressman Grijalva to deliver on his promise to hold a federal hearing on the issue before Department of Homeland Security officials.Arivaca residents and supporters gathered at 10am and peacefully proceeded to the checkpoint to hold the hearing. Upon entering the checkpoint, they were met with a blockade of armed Border Patrol agents who used physical force, attempting to move the residents back. Despite this intimidation, protesters held their ground and sat-in while community members held a public hearing calling for the removal of the checkpoint.

From elderly men and women to the children, the attendees remained unfazed in the face of this tyranny. Many of the residents voiced their concern over the entirely unnecessary and despotic checkpoint.

Local business owner Maggie Milinovich said, “our reverse-gated community is a barrier to tourists…this checkpoint is choking our community.”

Carlotta Wray spoke about her experiences being racially profiled by Border Patrol, saying, “because of our brown skin, me and most of my family have to reach into our pockets for ID at the checkpoint to prove that we’re legal citizens in our own town, I’m sick of it.”

Patty Miller said of the ongoing military-style presence of Border Patrol in the Arivaca community, “it’s like a war zone all the time.”

The event was organized by the Community Organization to End Border Patrol Checkpoints. Their mission is described on their Facebook Page.

Arivaca, AZ is a small rural community located in the militarized zone of the border region between the United States and Mexico. With a population of about 700, Arivaca is also a vibrant loving community that cares for each other. As with many border communities, residential life in Arivaca has been deeply impacted by mass migration and the subsequent arrival of thousands of border patrol agents and expansive enforcement infrastructure to the area. Locals routinely encounter federal agents on their property, in town, on the road, or in the many helicopters flying overhead. All residents and visitors to the area must pass through an immigration checkpoint to confirm their citizenship status. And yet while living under this sizable presence of immigration enforcement for years, Arivacans routinely provide critical care and humanitarian aid to migrants in distress. This beautiful community of diverse people care about human dignity and helping others. Arivaca will not turn a blind eye to the death and suffering that occurs in our backyard by the hands of Homeland Security and the US government.

The militarization and its subsequent effect on the lives of the children in the town is well documented by the group.

Harbingers Of Things to Come?

From Fran Porretto- read all of it,well worth your time…

Given Barack Hussein Obama’s propensity for ignoring the Constitution, I’ve occasionally wondered whether we can be certain that he’ll leave office peacefully on January 20, 2017. Inasmuch as it’s now established beyond even the shadow of a doubt that Obama was mentored by Communist pedophile Frank Marshall Davis, we have good reason to believe that he has no attachment of any sort to either the Constitution or other American norms.

The esteemed CM Blake posted the following at his site just yesterday:

Beirut (AFP) – A Syrian Christian fighter has beheaded an Islamic State group (IS) militant to avenge people “executed” by the jihadists in northeastern Syria, a monitor said on Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the incident took place on Thursday in Hasakeh province, where IS holds large areas of the countryside.

According to the monitor, the Christian fighter, a member of the minority Assyrian community, found the jihadist in the local village of Tal Shamiram.

“He took him prisoner and when he found out he was a member of IS, the Assyrian fighter beheaded him in revenge for abuses committed by the group in the region,” Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.

The Observatory is based in Britain but has covered the Syrian conflict since it broke out four years ago thanks to a network of sources inside the country.

The Christian was fighting in the ranks of Kurdish forces who earlier this month drove IS out of more than a dozen Assyrian villages the jihadists had captured in Hasakeh.

IS has carried out a wave of abuses in areas it controls in both Syria and Iraq, including public beheadings, mass executions, enslavement and rape.

New York, NY — A report by the Police Reform Organizing Project (PROP) was released Thursday touching on 117 accounts of alleged NYPD disrespect and abuse.

Detailed in this report were trumped-up and ridiculous arrests over non-crimes, including the “crime” of “manspreading.”

Manspreading, or man-sitting, is the practice of sitting in public transport with legs wide apart, thereby covering more than one seat.

The act of holding your legs open so wide that they extend in front of other seats is particularly uncouth. But is it an arrestable offense?

According to the report, the NYPD have engaged in heavy-handed policing by using manspreading to arrest people for the transit rule which bars the occupation of more than one seat.

According to the Prop report:

On a recent visit to the arraignment part in Brooklyn’s criminal court, PROP volunteers observed that police officers had arrested two Latino men on the charge of “man spreading” on the subway, presumably because they were taking up more than one seat and therefore inconveniencing other riders. Before issuing an [adjournment contemplating dismissal] for both men, the judge expressed her skepticism about the charge because of the time of the arrests: “12:11AM, I can’t believe there were many people on the subway.”

The judge dismissed the charges outright, but that is not always the case.

Gothamist reports:

Manspreading arrests are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to numbers-driven policing in the subway system, which often takes place in the middle of the night, according to Gangi. Underground is where Broken Windows champion and police commissioner Bill Bratton got his start at the NYPD as transit chief, and fare evasion consistently ranks among the most common types of misdemeanor arrests. But the maddening tickets and criminal charges recounted in the PROP report come in many shapes and sizes, for behavior like puttinga foot on a subway seat or walking between cars (always illegal, whether or not you’re bothering anybody). Gangi said that he has no concrete proof that quotas exist, but that it’s the only explanation for the volume of questionable cases he sees coming through court.

One of the vignettes from the PROP’s report details this quota system of abuse.

A police officer issued a summons to a man for walking between the cars of a stopped subway train. The officer apologized: “I’m sorry, but it’s the 26th of the month and I have to make my quota.”

To sum up the lack of logic applied in the aforementioned account, this officer was scared of getting reprimanded for not issuing enough citations for victimless crimes. So, in an effort to avoid the grief from his bosses, he issued a piece of paper which translates into the threat of violence for non-payment to a man who had not caused harm to anyone.

Does this make sense?

Perhaps one of the most horrifying accounts in the PROP report was of an African-American man who was kidnapped and brought to a hospital for 2 days to search his body for drugs.

An African-American man was walking home with a bag of dog food in Brooklyn when three plainclothes officers grabbed him, accused him of swallowing drugs, and tackled him. After a strip search in the precinct and a series of forced and invasive medical tests over two days at Interfaith Hospital, no contraband was found. The hospital billed him $9,500 for its services.

Even if this man would’ve had drugs on him, which he did not, the only real criminals in this situation were the police officers. They assaulted a man, kidnapped him, deprived him of his freedom, violated the inside of his body, and charged him for this, all to search for a substance that their bosses tell them is “illegal.” This man had harmed no one.

It is no question, criminals do not like the police. But to stop critical thought at this point, is entirely irresponsible.

The wedge driven between citizens and the cops comes from the harassment, arrests, deprivation of rights, and fear over the police enforcing laws for victimless crimes designed to generate revenue. The giant pink elephant in the living room can no longer be ignored. The government’s war on drugs alone has laid waste to entire communities by pushing the sale of drugs into the black market, creating crime

The Free Thought Project has documented near countless examples of people being kidnapped, caged and killed for “crimes” with no victims.

A story that epitomizes this source of discontent for police comes from the case of Carsten Vogel. Vogel was a devout and outspoken supporter of the police, taking to social media to defend all things NYPD. One fateful day all that changed after he was victimized by the very people he’d been adamant about defending.

Waco, TX — If there is anything we know about the Waco biker brawl that occurred earlier this month, it’s that the public is largely in the dark about what actually went on that day.

The original narrative put out by the Mainstream Media stated a fight broke out at the Twin Peaks and spilled into a parking lot. Police said that the bikers began shooting at each other and then at the police, who were forced to return fire.

However, there is another side to this story which few people have heard.

According to the website, The Aging Rebel,

The shove in the bathroom became a scuffle in the restaurant. When about 30 Bandidos, Cossacks, Scimitars and other bikers spilled into the parking between the Twin peaks and the Don Carlos Mexican restaurant next door, the police were waiting for them. The scuffle became a knife fight and several men were stabbed. When one of the combatants produced a gun the Swat team opened fire with automatic weapons. Multiple sources have told The Aging Rebel that all of the dead were killed by police.

One woman, who goes by the name “Sadness,” explained how her loved one, Jake, was gunned down by police for doing nothing wrong.

Jake was the one in a pale yellow sleeveless tshirt, lying on the bed of a truck, being given CPR by his friends, in some media pictures. He had been sitting, after lunch, talking with his friends, when he heard a scuffle start. He walked about 40ft, just around a corner, to see what the skirmish was about, and that’s when he was shot in the neck and killed. He had no gun. He had never owned a gun. He hated guns. He had no criminal record. He’d had the same job for almost 20 years. And he hated drugs (but he did love beer). It’s killing me to see all these guys painted as violent criminals and losers. That just isn’t the case.

“Jake” can bee seen receiving CPR from a biker in the back of a pickup truck in the image below.

image: http://tftppull.freethoughtllc.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/jake-killed.jpg

jake-killedAccording to a U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives study, first reported by the Intercept, biker gangs have recruited scores of employees of federal, state and local governments, police and firefighters, National Guardsmen and reservists, some of them with government security clearances, to help them “maim and murder” in support of their “insatiable appetite for dominance.”

The Waco Tribune also reported on the U.S. military ties to the Bandidos and other biker gangs which were detailed in a U.S. Justice Department report published last year. The report concluded the gangs were using “active-duty military personnel and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) contractors and employees to spread their tentacles across the United States.”

Knowing the above two details, the notion that police could have been involved in deliberately killing bikers, is not too far fetched.

Since the massacre, police have issued statements claiming that bikers are planning attacks on Texas officers that would include “Molotov cocktails, grenades, firearms” and even “running over officers.” Fortunately, this alleged threat has failed to materialize.

What has come to light however, is the fact that dozens of bikers, who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time are being held on bonds deliberately inflated to punitive levels; an utterly unconstitutional move by local officials.

If we do have such a “catastrophic emergency”, the president essentially becomes a dictator at that point. The document certainly talks about the need to ensure that “constitutional government” continues, but during the course of the emergency there really is not much of a role for the other two branches of government to play. Instead, the “shadow government” takes over under the overall command of the president. The following is a short excerpt from the document…

What can a president do during a broadly defined national emergency? Damn near anything he or she wants. This is an eye-opening article from Michael Snyder of theeconomiccollapse.blog:

Presidents have always exercised emergency powers, but now thanks to dozens of new laws, regulations, court decisions and executive orders, Barack Obama is the most powerful president in all of U.S. history. Of course the U.S. Constitution does not actually give the president any special powers during a time of national emergency, but over time presidents have decided that they should be able to exercise such powers and the courts have generally agreed with them. During World War II and prior to that, these emergency powers were largely uncodified and were primarily used during times of war. But since World War II things have completely changed, and this has particularly been true since 9/11. Over the past decade or so, a whole…

An inconvenient fact for Middle East interventionists: too often the military forces we arm and support lose, even when they have vastly superior manpower and firepower. Pat Buchanan asks why, from buchanan.org:

“What apparently happened was that the Iraqi forces just showed no will to fight. … We can give them training, we can give them equipment; we obviously can’t give them the will to fight.”

Thus did Defense Secretary Ash Carter identify the root cause of the rout of the Iraqi army in Ramadi.

Disgusted U.S. military officers say the 1,000 ISIS fighters who overran Ramadi were outnumbered by the defenders 10 to 1.

Why did the Iraqi army run? And what motivated the fighters of ISIS to attack a city whose defenders so vastly outnumbered them?

According to battle reports, the assault began when dozens of captured U.S. armored vehicles and trucks, laden with explosives, were driven by…

Officers could be hesitant to draw their guns because doing so would result in more paperwork under the terms of the agreement, Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association president Steve Loomis said Wednesday. The agreement requires an officer to complete a report each time he or she points a gun at a suspect.

“It’s going to get somebody killed,” Loomis said. “There’s going to be a time when someone isn’t going to want to do that paperwork, so he’s going to keep that gun in its holster.”

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The head of the Cleveland police department’s patrol union said aspects of the agreement that mandates sweeping reforms to the city’s police department could put officers in danger.

Cleveland and the U.S. Department of Justice unveiled the agreement, known as a consent decree, Tuesday. It is meant to transform a police department that too often used excessive force and failed to conduct thorough internal investigations, according to an investigation by the Justice Department. The agreement will become legally binding once approved by a federal judge.

Loomis said he believes the 105 pages of reforms are a response to high-profile incidents that have happened nationwide, rather than to incidents that have happened in Cleveland, including the 2012 police chase that saw 13 officers fire at two unarmed people 137 times, the police shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice and the death of a mentally ill woman after officers forced her to the ground.

“This is a political agenda,” he said. “This has nothing to do with the actions of the men and women of the Cleveland police department.”
