How to Make a Mega Mock Scrape | Field & Stream

Posted: September 29, 2017 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized

I’ve written about making fake/ mock scrapes several times.

It’s a good thing to do and it does attract bucks during the pre- rut and rut.

Try it- you’ll be surprised at the number of deer that hit the fake scrapes. A lot of the activity is after dark, but during the peak of the rut bucks are up and moving in daylight hours.

I’ve had bucks hit my fake scrapes at all times of the day and night. In Ohio the most activity is from the last week of October until about middle of November. Don’t take your fake scrape set up down after peak rut because 28 days later the does not bred cycle back into estrous and the secondary rut kicks off.

It’s a good way to increase your chances at nice bucks.

Give it a shot- you might be surprised at all the bucks that visit.
