“I’ve worked very hard to drive home the understanding that Hollywood is defunct, morally and intellectually bankrupt. They don’t serve their audience, but seek, like everything from corporations to schools, to brainwash and coerce the American public. We don’t need Hollywood and at one time I was largely alone in that opinion, but now many have seen the light and understand the situation. Still many don’t understand the link between movies and reality, how making movies outside the Hollywood system, about Middle America for Middle America; free to embrace the religious nature of the region; free to celebrate the working family, farmers and store owners rather than ridiculing them; recognizing their experiences, we can shine a light on the plight of the American family during a time when the politics are against them, in opposition to them, because they seem to be (gasp) conservative.”
