“Magnolia Park has been a traditionally ethnic Mexican part of Houston for over 100 years. It is considered a bit rough. There were five home invaders. There was one home defender. From abc13.com:

Authorities are investigating after dozens of shots were fired in east Houston.

According to a detective, the incident began as a home invasion at the 7000 block of Sherman.

Authorities say the homeowner defended himself when the suspects entered the home. Following the shooting, the suspects fled from the scene

Two armed home invaders broke in. One of the home invaders was reported as shot in the leg and running from the house. He survived. One home invader died in the front yard. Another person, believed to be one of the home invaders, was found dead in a car two blocks from the scene. A fourth suspect ended up in the hospital and died there. The fifth suspect was wounded, fled the scene, and was being treated in the hospital.”

Review: 6.5 Creedmoor versus .308 Winchester

Posted: February 3, 2019 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized

“Recently, Springfield introduced the iconic M1A rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. This got my attention. The AR rifle has sucked the life from most other self-loading rifles but not the M1A. This is a big step. Perhaps, I should look harder at the two cartridges—6.5 and .308 for brevity.

Federal’s new hunting loads makes the 6.5 Creedmoor even more attractive.

The 6.5 Creedmoor is similar enough to the .308 that re-chambering a popular rifle isn’t a problem for the major makers. The Creedmoor uses a skinny light bullet to achieve good ballistics. This isn’t necessarily a higher velocity loading, but instead, it is a very efficient loading. The 6.5 is a popular long-range number that has seen much use the past decade or so for firing beyond 500 yards. And that’s the deal right there—long range.

The .308 is a great go-anywhere do-anything cartridge but it isn’t the finest long-range cartridge. Long range results with the .308 hinge on a great rifle and optics, and also a great shooter. At ranges up to 500 yards—with proper load selection—I don’t see that much difference, except perhaps in wind resistance. At 1,000 yards you see the 6.5 has a big advantage in hitting the target easily with less calculations.”

Joe Gamaldi, dirtbag extraordinaire, was keeping track of Alfred Brown for sure. After 10 years on death row his conviction was thrown out after it was found that investigators withheld evidence that proved his alibi.   But that didn’t matter to Joe Gamaldi. He was convinced that this man should stay in prison.   This is the man who purports to speak for 800,000 police officers nationwide.    This is not just about Joe Gamaldi; It is about everything that he represents.   This is about the whole dirtbag system and all of those involved in it.  This is about the dirtbag cop who jailed Brown’s girlfriend until she changed her testimony. This is about the dirtbag cop who had the phone records and kept them hidded.    This is about the dirtbag prosecutor who turned a blind eye to all of it. This also includes the dirtbag judge who oversaw…

“I remember a picture several years ago of Ann Barnhardt guarding her physical possessions with an AR-15. The point was that if you cannot physically guard your possessions, you do not really own them. This impacts every aspect of our lives and that impacts our future. Do you really own the money in your bank account? Is its value under your control or the Federal Reserve? What happens to its value with the next round of quantitative easing?

This is an incisive look at the psychology of a statist, and actually all those who cling to indefensible positions in the face of contrary evidence. From John Hunt at internationalman.com:

To protect his fragile ego when informed he may be an addict, the alcoholic uses denial first and defensiveness immediately after. This mechanism is a pre-requisite in essentially all addicts, and the drug that controls the addict relies on these underlying personality dysfunctions to protect itself.

“My friend, do you realize you are an addict?” a caring person cautiously, hesitantly, fearfully suggests.

“No I’m not. YOU are!” The addict shuts you and everyone else down, turns away, leaves in a huff, and will not engage in the conversation.

It’s the standard alcoholic’s reply, and standard progressive statist’s reply as well. Although it might be more sophisticated and intelligently stated than that schoolyard sentence, the denial and defensiveness will…

“The robber didn’t get anything, but the police got everything.”

“South Carolina police seized more than $17 million over a three-year period according to a comprehensive joint investigation by the The Greenville News and Anderson Independent Mail.

The news outlets scoured roughly 3,200 civil asset forfeiture cases across South Carolina. The results, the reporters say, “yielded a clear picture of what is happening: Police are systematically seizing cash and property—many times from people who aren’t guilty of a crime—netting millions of dollars each year.”

Nearly a fifth of the 4,000 people who had their property seized by South Carolina police between 2014 and 2016 were never arrested nor even charged with a related crime. Under typical civil asset forfeiture laws, police can seize cash, cars, houses, and other property suspected of being connected to criminal activity even if the owner is never convicted of a crime.”

Strela AK Flash Suppressor | American Partisan

This is jackboots in the morning. This is an American nightmare that they would arrest somebody like this.”—Judge Andrew Napolitano

“The American Police State does not discriminate.

Whatever dangerous practices you allow the government to carry out now—whether it’s in the name of national security or protecting America’s borders or making America great again—rest assured, these same practices can and will be used against you when the government decides to set its sights on you.

We’ve been having this same debate about the perils of government overreach for the past 50-plus years, and still we don’t seem to learn, or if we learn, we learn too late.

For too long now, the American people have allowed their personal prejudices and politics to cloud their judgment and render them incapable of seeing that the treatment being doled out by the government’s lethal enforcers has remained consistent, no matter the threat.

All of the excessive, abusive tactics employed by the government today—warrantless surveillance, stop and frisk searches, SWAT team raids, roadside strip searches, asset forfeiture schemes, private prisons, indefinite detention, militarized police, etc.—will eventually be meted out on the general populace.

At that point, when you find yourself in the government’s crosshairs, it will not matter whether your skin is black or yellow or brown or white; it will not matter whether you’re an immigrant or a citizen; it will not matter whether you’re rich or poor; it will not matter whether you’re Republican or Democrat; and it certainly won’t matter who you voted for in the last presidential election.

At that point—at the point you find yourself subjected to dehumanizing, demoralizing, thuggish behavior by government bureaucrats who are hyped up on the power of their badges and empowered to detain, search, interrogate, threaten and generally harass anyone they see fit—remember you were warned.

Take Roger Stone, one of President Trump’s longtime supporters, for example.

This is a guy accused of witness tampering, obstruction of justice and lying to Congress.

As far as we know, this guy is not the kingpin of a violent mob or drug-laundering scheme. He’s been charged with a political crime. So what does the FBI do? They send 29 heavily armed agents in 17 vehicles to carry out a SWAT-style raid on Stone’s Florida home just before dawn on Jan. 25, 2019.”
