The “suspect” is 24 and has 11 previous arrests,5 of which are sealed because they were juvenile offenses.
These are the type of people who deserve to be in prison for many years-none of this “community based corrections” bullshit-lock the piece of rotten,festering garbage up for at least 10 years for this-no early release.

CLEVELAND (AP) — A Cleveland policeman who fatally shot a 12-year-old thought the boy’s pellet gun was a real firearm and later said he had no choice, the officer’s father said.
The Nov. 22 shooting of Tamir Rice by 26-year-old police rookie Tim Loehmann outside a recreation center sparked protests in the area. Surveillance video shows Loehmann firing within two seconds of a patrol car stopping near Rice, who reached in his waistband for what turned out to be a pellet gun.
Loehmann’s father, Fred Loehmann, of Parma, told the Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/1wiyIHu ) that the officer didn’t know how young the boy was.
He recalled his son saying: “I was right there and he went for the gun. I had no choice.”
Through their lawyer’s spokesman, Rice’s family declined to comment on any details about Loehmann. His funeral is planned Wednesday.
The city, so far, has not released statements taken from Loehmann and his police partner or their personnel files. Loehmann, who joined Cleveland police in March after spending several months with the police department in suburban Independence, is described by others as a quiet, respectful guy who grew up in Catholic schools and tried to follow in his father’s footsteps, the publishing group said.
Fred Loehmann, who spent decades in law enforcement with New York police and the U.S. Marshals Service, said his son initially was in shock after the shooting, but is now doing “pretty well.”
“He’s living his life,” the father said. However, the family has received threats since police publicly identified the officers involved, he said.
The police department is investigating the officer’s use of deadly force, and the county prosecutor has said the case will be presented for a grand jury to decide whether any charges are merited.

For the millions of Americans charged each year with misdemeanor crimes, justice can be blindingly swift.
He noted, for example, that Ferguson had issued about $2 million in petty fines last year — a reference to recent reports that the city’s second-biggest source of income came from court fines and fees levied even on low-level traffic violations. Paul said that “may seem petty” until “you’re a poor person who has to come up with hundreds of dollars in fines.”
The senator continued his criticism Tuesday in an op-ed published by Time.
“In the search for culpability for the tragedy in Ferguson, I mostly blame politicians. Michael Brown’s death and the suffocation of Eric Garner in New York for selling untaxed cigarettes indicate something is wrong with criminal justice in America,” he wrote. “The War on Drugs has created a culture of violence and put police in a nearly impossible situation.”
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) – The chorus of voices seeking a ban on lead-based ammunition fell flat in Colorado.
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife commission voted this month not to move forward on a citizen-raised proposal to prohibit lead ammunition for big-game hunting in Colorado.
The commission killed the petition after citing a “lack of credible scientific evidence” as to the long-term impacts of spent lead to wildlife, along with a strong lack of support from the agency itself and concern about potential impacts to hunter participation.
A study by the National Shooting Sports Foundation said banning lead bullets could raise ammo prices “on average, up to 190 percent more” than the lowest-priced traditional lead bullets.
This would “decrease the ability for citizens to participate in recreational activities,” the NSSF said.
But, like the controversy over, and eventual 1991 ban of, lead shot for waterfowl hunters, the issue of getting the lead out of hunting ammo isn’t simple, nor is it going away.
The arguments for and against banning lead-based bullets are as many as the people voicing them.
The pro-ban forces gained an advantage in 2013 when California, under siege from various factors including the anti-hunting Humane Society of the U.S., banned the use of lead ammunition for all hunting purposes.
“Lead poses a danger to wildlife. This danger has been known for a long time,” California Gov. Jerry Brown said.
Studies by the Peregrine Fund, California state researchers and others say condors were exposed to lead poisoning by eating bullet fragments when scavenging dead animals shot by hunters.

Despite those and other studies, the California ban “has proven ineffective,” wrote guest columnist Susan Recce in a story earlier this year in The (Portland, Oregon) Oregonian.
“Despite a 99 percent compliance rate by hunters, researchers now admit that ‘lead exposures continue,’ and lead levels in condor blood have not dropped,” Recce wrote. “Supporters of lead ammunition bans continue to ignore alternative sources of lead in the environment as the primary cause of lead poisoning.”
However, it must be noted Recce is director of conservation, wildlife and natural resources for the National Rifle Association, a group traditionally siding with gun owners.
In a story on the National Geographic website, David Bellinger, an environmental health researcher at the Harvard School of Public Health in Massachusetts, said, “Lead’s a really bad actor, and we keep finding out that it’s worse than we thought. There’s no safe level.”
Bellinger was one of 30 scientists and public health experts signing a consensus statement in March 2013 in support of “reducing and eventually eliminating the introduction of lead into the environment from lead-based ammunition.”

The felons the founders meant who should be prohibited from keeping and bearing arms were the true psychopaths and sociopaths-truly evil people-NOT a guy who was convicted of “domestic violence” because he yelled at his wife during an argument,or the guy who didn’t have the $$$ to pay his taxes,or the guy who did something stupid in his youth.Or, the veteran who sought help for an issue,and was deemed by the VA as unfit to own firearms-THAT is pure,unadulterated bullshit!
Our “justice” system is screwed up so badly- the founders wouldn’t recognize it-or believe that the shit that .gov inc. is doing is going on,and there has been no armed revolt.
In the old days-when a person sentenced to jail or prison had served his term-(or her term)-their “debt to society” was deemed to have been paid,and their firearms were returned to them upon release.
The only people who should be banned from firearms ownership are the truly evil pyscho and sociopathic individuals who prey on innocent citizens.
Everyone else should retain their right to keep and bear arms.
NPR’s This American Life digs into some bizarrely counterproductive sting tactics by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, which might have gone unchallenged had the bureau not stiffed a Milwaukee landlord badly enough to provoke him into taking his story to Journal Sentinel reporter John Diedrich. “The whole effort has resulted in some attempts to actually disband the entire ATF, which might not be such a bad idea.” BATF is part of the U.S. Department of Justice.
