Commenting on revelations about Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Department of Justice (DOJ) actions in the case of retired agent Jay Dobyns against his former employer, attorney David Hardy equated them with “a BATF and DOJ Watergate… or worse,” Friday. Noting that actions taken over a civil lawsuit evidently have included concealing evidence, secret threats against witnesses, and surveillance of attorneys and witnesses, the new information lends further credence to Dobyns’ allegations and appears to show government lawyers engaged in a criminal conspiracy.

“For people like me, who have sympathized with Dobyns but tried to reserve judgment about his case, the documents push us further into the retired agent’s camp,” Tim Steller of the Arizona Daily Star admitted. “You can’t read the few filings that have been unsealed in the case without wondering why the Justice Department is going to such extremes and spending so much on what is, at base, a relatively minor contractual dispute that could have ended years ago.”

“I said all along they were cheating,” Dobyns advised readers of his website in a Friday post. “Everyone was like, ‘sour grapes, disgruntled agent, whiny narcissist, etc. … Just a fraction of the dirty games ATF and DOJ played on me are coming out. Reporters are finding it all on their own with no prompting from me. This is only the portion of what Judge Allegra has unsealed and allowed to be exposed. More and better dirt on these people is coming.”

“Everyone who has read this and called Jay their friend, and probably enjoyed his generosity over the years needs to take the five minutes it will take to write a letter, and send it certified mail to Sen. Charles Grassley and newly appointed House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz DEMANDING DOJ answer for this,” Dobyns’ friend, colleague and fellow whistleblower Vince Cefalu told members of the CleanUpATF forum. That’s the website formed by bureau insiders fed up with waste, abuse, corruption and fraud, and the place where revelations of Fast and Furious guns being found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry were first made.

These latest developments, along with revelations about ATF “sting” scandals in Milwaukee, Wichita, Portland and Pensacola, call into question the very justification for confirming B. Todd Jones as permanent director after a string of acting bureau heads. But before extrapolating that to engage in further speculation, the next developments in Judge Allegra’s court, as well as the reaction, if any, from Sen. Grassley and Rep. Chaffetz to these latest revelations, will provide the best window into who in the government knew and did what, and how high it has gone.

Coyotes and Low Deer Numbers

The whitetail harvest is down in multiple states and a big part of the reason why is coyote predation.

In areas with high ‘yote populations, fawn predation can be as high as 70%.

Think about that for a minute-say the area you hunt has an average deer population of 1,000 deer. A 70% predation rate means that 700 out of every 1,000 fawns get eaten by ‘yotes.

Combine the ‘yote predation with the EHD outbreaks a lot of midwestern and Appalachian states have seen in the past few years, and you now know what happened to all the deer.

When I started seriously deer hunting in the early 70’s as a kid, there were very few deer, then as the ‘burbs expanded, developers were forced to add “green space to new housing and industrial projects, cities increased the number of parks, and farming changed from small family farms to the big ag co-ops and corporations we see today, the combination provided plenty of food and shelter for deer.

In the late 70’s/early 80’s the Ohio deer population exploded,it peaked in the mid-to late90’s-we are now well past the peak, with deer numbers dropping due to a combination of DNR allowing overharvest of does for too many years, increasing EHD outbreaks,’yote predation, and in some states-CWD-the deer version of mad cow disease.

Many wildlife biologists have predicted a crash of the whitetail population. We are starting to see exactly that now.

There’s nothing we can do about EHD outbreaks,it’s hard to get state wildlife agencies to reduce doe harvest, due to farmers complaining about deer damaging crops, and insurance companies lobbying for even more does to be harvested-so they have to pay fewer claims from cars hitting deer.State wildlife agencies appear to be doing a decent job of slowing the spread of CWD-so that leaves the ‘yote problem.

Deer seasons are over or winding down just about everywhere now,’yotes breed in Feb. in NE Ohio, and Jan/Feb in most of the midwest and northern Appalachian states.

That means now’s the time to start huntin ‘yotes.

I keep posting about the ‘yote problem, because if we don’t lower the number of ‘yotes,we can all kiss deer hunting goodbye,it will be like it was in the 70’s when you hunted the week of gun season, and most people never saw a deer.

I know I like venison, and I know I can’t afford to buy the 150-200# of meat I get from deer hunting at the grocery store,so I want as many people as possible to shoot the ‘yotes.

It’s going to take a concerted effort from all deer hunters to lower the ‘yote numbers,so that the deer numbers go back up-if you do nothing-there will be very, very few deer within 2-3 years.

If you think you’ve been seeing fewer deer this year-wait ’till next year if no one is killing ‘yotes.

So get out there and start killing ’em.

Thin Red Lines

There are lines.  Lines that are meant not to be crossed.  Every person has their own.  Some are purely personal.  Some are dictated by policy.  Lines, in certain cases, that are there for the protection of others, even others for which we have no real loyalties.  When we as a country signed the Geneva Convention, we agreed to a lot of lines. Lines such as, well… I dunno… using chemical weapons (much less on unarmed civilians).  We also drew that line when it came to allowing other countries to do such atrocities.  This line was drawn in the sand.  The sand in Iraq to be exact.

When President Bush decided to take his military to war as the Commander in Chief, he did so with the deepest regret.  He had an understanding of the lives he was putting in harms way, and the bloodshed that would follow.  When the intelligence…

Cop Records Himself Shooting Man For Running Away

” The Muskogee, Oklahoma Police Department just released the video from a fatal on-duty police shooting Friday. The whole thing was captured by an officer’s body camera, and what it shows is horrifying.

Officer Chansey McMillin can be seen shooting and killing 21-year-old Terence D. Walker back on January 17th. The only observable reason why he as shot was for running from police who confronted him.

The video documents what otherwise might have been in dispute, that Officer McMillin fired five shots at Walker when the suspect stopped to pick up an item he dropped while running away.”

While the object that Walker dropped may or may not have been a gun , what we saw in the video was a fleeing suspect stop , bend down to retrieve something , and then continue running away . We did not…

The West Summarized In One Sentence

It is not an easy thing to do [Lord knows I’ve tried to fashion such a quip to have handy in conversations with people who refuse to see how dire our Cultural situation is], but Richard Fernandez has done it:

To an ever-greater degree the “free man” of the West is an unarmed, frightened, policed and browbeaten cipher whose first reaction to any crisis is to ‘shelter in place’.

That’s a head shot, a bullseye.

Some have speculated that The West is merely experiencing what every civilization in the past has: exhaustion. These prognosticators believe that societies eventually get tired of defending their customs and traditions and sink into an Apathy.

While the widespread miasma of Apathy is hanging over The West, I don’t see it as being the result of a general fatigue.

As Jean Raspail wrote in his 1985 Introduction to a new edition of The Camp…

Rattlesnake Logic…

Posted: January 24, 2015 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized

After the Boston bombing the news media spent days and weeks trying to determine why these men did what they did. They want to know what America did (!) to make these brothers so angry with us. They want to know why these men were not arrested before they did something so terrible. The media is in a tizzy about this new era of homegrown radicals and about why and how they can live among us and still hate us.

A friend of mine from Texas explained it all to me:  “Here in west Texas, I have rattlesnakes on my place, living among us. I have killed a rattlesnake on the front porch. I have killed a rattlesnake on the back porch. I have killed rattlesnakes in the barn, in the shop and on the driveway. In fact, I kill every rattlesnake I encounter.

I kill rattlesnakes because I know a rattlesnake will bite me and inject me with poison. I don’t stop to wonder WHY a rattlesnake will bite me; I know it WILL bite me because it’s a rattlesnake and that’s what rattlesnakes do. I don’t try to reason with a rattlesnake or have a “meaningful dialogue” with it…I just kill it. I don’t try to get to know the rattlesnake better so I can find a way to live with the rattlesnakes and convince them not to bite me. I just kill them. I don’t quiz a rattlesnake to see if I can find out where the other snakes are, because (a) it won’t tell me and (b) I already know they live on my place. So, I just kill the rattlesnake and move on to the next one.

I don’t look for ways I might be able to change the rattlesnake to a non-poisonous rat snake…I just kill it. Oh, and on occasion, I accidentally kill a rat snake because I thought it was a rattlesnake at the time. Also, I know for every rattlesnake I kill, two more are lurking out there in the brush. In my lifetime I will never be able to rid my place of rattlesnakes.

Do I fear them? Not really. Do I respect what they can do to me and my family? Yes!! And because of that respect, I give them the fair justice they deserve…I kill them. As a country, we should start giving more thought to the fact that these jihadists’ are telling the world their goal is to kill Americans and destroy our way of life. They have  posted two graphic videos on the internet showing them beheading Americans. They are serious. They are exactly like rattlesnakes. It is high time for us to start acting accordingly!”

I love this country. It’s the damn government I’m afraid of!

Look who’s new in the White House!

Arif Alikhan, Assistant Secretary for Policy Development for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Mohammed Elibiary, Homeland Security Adviser

Rashad Hussein, Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)

Salam al-Marayati, Obama Adviser and founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council and is its current executive director

Imam Mohamed Magid, Obama’s Sharia Czar from the Islamic Society of North America

Eboo Patel, Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships

This is flat-out scary!

The foxes are now officially living in the hen house…

Now ask me why I am very concerned!

Preliminary harvest figures for the 2014-15 deer-hunting seasons in Illinois are down,  even from the collapse in harvest numbers in the 2013-14 seasons.

Here is the word from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources:

Illinois Deer Hunters Harvest Preliminary Total of 145,804 Deer during 2014-2015 Seasons
