New report details the disastrous municipal court system in St. Louis County

The obscure laws, codes, and regs enforced by the local gestapo and “justice” systems are nothing but legal extortion of those who can least afford it.

“Last month, I posted a long investigation of how the 80-plus municipal courts and 90-plus municipalities in St. Louis County, Mo., profit from poverty by extracting money from residents for minor infractions such as moving violations, occupancy permit violations, business permit violations and code violations. It’s a system built on a history of racial discrimination, one that supports far too many towns and the public officials who work for them considering the size of the county, and one that makes the survival of some of those towns contingent on issuing an extraordinary number of citations, arrest warrants and fines.

The system weighs most heavily on the poor, who are less likely to have legal representation. Those without attorneys are more likely to be swept into the cycle of accumulating fines and arrest warrants. And of course, those fines and court costs amount to a much higher proportion of a poor person’s income. Compounding all of this, most municipalities in the county derive most of their revenue from a sales tax. Poorer towns are less likely to generate revenue from a sales tax. That makes them more reliant on the municipal courts for revenue.”

If you do the research in your state-you will find similar results-all the municipal courts are is a means to extort $$$ from local residents. Police dept’s use the courts as a funding source-cities use the courts as a funding source because they can not extort enough $$$ in property, income, or sales taxes.

“In 2013, the municipal courts of St. Louis City and County collected $61,152,087 in fines and fees. During that same time, the combined total of court fines and fees collected by Missouri municipal courts was $132,032,351.63. This means that the municipal courts in the St. Louis region accounted for 46% of all fines and fees collected statewide, despite being home to only 22% of Missourians.”

Ex-CBS reporter: Government agency bugged my computer

A former CBS News reporter who quit the network over claims it kills stories that put President Obama in a bad light says she was spied on by a “government-related entity” that planted classified documents on her computer.

In her new memoir, Sharyl Attkisson says a source who arranged to have her laptop checked for spyware in 2013 was “shocked” and “flabbergasted” at what the analysis revealed.

“This is outrageous. Worse than anything Nixon ever did. I wouldn’t have believed something like this could happen in the United States of America,” Attkisson quotes the source saying.

She speculates that the motive was to lay the groundwork for possible charges against her or her sources.

Attkisson says the source, who’s “connected to government three-letter agencies,” told her the computer was hacked into by “a sophisticated entity that used commercial, nonattributable spyware that’s proprietary to a government agency: either the CIA, FBI, the Defense Intelligence Agency or the National Security Agency.”

The breach was accomplished through an “otherwise innocuous e-mail” that Attkisson says she got in February 2012, then twice “redone” and “refreshed” through a satellite hookup and a Wi-Fi connection at a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

The spyware included programs that Attkisson says monitored her every keystroke and gave the snoops access to all her e-mails and the passwords to her financial accounts.

“The intruders discovered my Skype account handle, stole the password, activated the audio, and made heavy use of it, presumably as a listening tool,” she wrote in “Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington.”

This is outrageous. Worse than anything Nixon ever did.

Attkisson says her source — identified only as “Number One” — told her the spying was most likely not court-authorized because it went on far longer than most legal taps.

But the most shocking finding, she says, was the discovery of three classified documents that Number One told her were “buried deep in your operating system. In a place that, unless you’re a some kind of computer whiz specialist, you wouldn’t even know exists.”

“They probably planted them to be able to accuse you of having classified documents if they ever needed to do that at some point,” Number One added.

Hey, hunters — you might not realize this, but you’re business tycoons!

That’s right. If hunting were a corporation, it would occupy the 73rd spot on the Fortune 500 list of top U.S. businesses.

According to a report compiled recently by the National Shooting Sports Association, hunters spent $38.3 billion on their favorite pastime in 2011, the last year for which complete figures were available.

That’s more money than Google ($37.9 billion) or Goldman Sachs ($36.8 billion) managed to earn.

The $38.3 billion represents expenditures on hunting equipment, licenses, ammunition, food, lodging and other associated costs. And, to the surveyors’ credit, the total represents money actually spent, not a bunch of phony-baloney “multipliers” designed to exaggerate true economic impact.

What does it mean? There are 311 million Americans, and they spent an average of $123.15 apiece on hunting.

Why did they do it? Well, they appear to know what many Americans seem to miss — that while it’s possible to spend a lot of money on hunting, as a whole it’s one of the more affordable recreational pastimes.

According to the NSSF study, an average day of turkey hunting costs $37.54, which includes a license and a few shotgun shells. By contrast, an average round of golf — greens fees and a sleeve of golf balls — costs $72.54; and an average day at a Major League ballpark — ticket, parking, a hot dog and a drink — costs $57.45.

How do we get back to Rightful Liberty? Some readers have accused me of intellectual vacillation and lack of action in this series on Rightful Liberty. What action do you want from me? It’s all in the blog articles. The first one is, after all, titled ‘Rightful Liberty: Stand up!‘ I can’t do it for you. And there you are – there is the real point: this is not a game for individuals.

Those who I term ‘Paranoid Radical Individualists’ (PRIs) need to stop reading now. If you think that any sort of association with other freemen is collectivism, crawl back into your log cabin and STFU. Anyone who has ever done anything useful, whether working on a job site or tactical training, knows that there needs to be teamwork, association, and of course organization. Rightful Liberty cannot be attained by numerous overweight middle aged men sitting at their (your?) computer screens, bickering. Sadly, it is those middle aged men who make up the main demographic of those who have the potential to achieve Rightful Liberty. That situation needs to be remedied.

And that is what the leviathan counts on. Feeding you crap, and making sure you don’t do any exercise (‘lifestyle’) to make you weak, fat and soft. So you whine away on the internet, on FaceBook, and you achieve nothing. And you can’t organize because firstly you don’t trust anyone else (the dreaded ‘OPSEC’) and secondly you don’t have team, you don’t have community. So all we have is a bunch of isolated ‘preppers’ many of whom are actual nut jobs, with no potential to do anything. Except try and hide under a rock when the collapse happens. Well, the collapse may not happen for 10 or 20 years, but meanwhile leviathan has taken away your freedom and continues to make you slaves.

This post isn’t going to be pretty. If the cap fits, wear it. Hurt feelings reports will be ignored. Frankly, I’m sick of the whining and bickering. How about getting on message and keeping it simple? Rightful Liberty. That’s all it needs to be at this stage. Perhaps combine it with the Rationalist/Realist message? After all, you are supposed to be Americans! Stop. Get a Grip. Do PT. Train. Become a force to be reckoned with.”

A “no refusal” blood draw checkpoint is coming to another state. Today, in Clark County, Ohio, there will be a planned “no refusal” checkpoint.  What makes this checkpoint interesting is that this one will pull drivers over, and they will potentially have their blood tested to see if it contains alcohol or drugs.

As reported by ABC 22, the task force states that a “No Refusal Checkpoint” means that every car will be checked to ensure that drivers are not impaired. If there is sufficient probable cause to believe that a driver is operating a vehicle while impaired, law enforcement will seek a blood search warrant from a “neutral and detached magistrate.”

Once a search warrant is issued a nurse will draw the blood, though it is not specified whether this will take place on the side of the road or in a nearby facility.  The time and place…

The egotistical,self centered whiny acts like a 4 year old bitch of a nurse who complained about being placed in isolation when she informed customs workers she was returning from W. Africa now claims “her civil rights” were violated,and is suing everyone who was mean to her.

YOUR rights? What about MY rights?

Shes a freakin’ nurse for God’s sake-she knows damn well how deadly Ebola is,and that people who have used ALL the correct PPE  have STILL GOT EBOLA.

She knows damn well that protocol is isolation and monitoring for fever for at least 21 days.

She’s whining about HER rights?

Fuck her rights-she has NO RIGHTS when coming here from the Ebola hot zone-NONE-she gets the exact same treatment anyone coming from the hot zone gets-being a nurse does NOT grant special rights. She has no right to infect others with Ebola-no right whatsoever.

You can not help people who believe that Ebola comes from witch doctors.

Shut down all travel in and out of the 3 countries-air-drop food and supplies for the survivors-and let the outbreak burn itself out-once the virus can no longer find hosts-the outbreak stops.

When the outbreak is over-then-and only then should we send American troops to help the remaining people out.

Teaching the citizens of Guinea,Sierra Leone,and Liberia modern agricultural practices,modern sanitation techniques,how to build a home that’s not a shack or a mud and straw hut,and that Dr’s CURE diseases.

Show them that by building  some water and sewage treatment plants,they will be healthier,and when healthier-they will have fewer illnesses.

They must be taught that eating some types of bush meat is a bad thing-teach them to raise cattle,sheep,goats.

Raising chickens would provide them eggs and meat.

In other words-we have to bring them into the current century-or the next few Ebola,Lassa fever,Rift Valley fever,Marburg,malaria,TB etc. will kill them off.

That is one of the keys to stopping future outbreaks-education-something sorely lacking in W. Africa-along with the leadership of FUSA.

The Watch- Everyone is a Suspect

Over at the Huffington Post, ACLU fellow Samia Hossain has a so-absurd-it’s-humorous rundown of Amtrak’s “indicators of criminality.” Amtrak tells its employees (and customers) that passengers exhibiting such behaviors “should immediately be reported to trained law enforcement personnel.” They include:

  • Unusual nervousness of traveler
  • Unusual calmness or straight ahead stare
  • Looking around while making telephone call(s)
  • Position among passengers disembarking (ahead of, or lagging behind passengers)
  • Carrying little or no luggage
  • Purchase of tickets in cash
  • Purchase tickets immediately prior to boarding

As is often the case with war-on-terror excesses, there’s a drug war antecedent here. The Supreme Court, for example, has given customs officials enormous leeway in identifying and detaining suspected drug couriers coming into the country, finding that the government need only “reasonable suspicion” before agents can stop you, detain you, interrogate you, seize and search your phone or laptop or even hold you in a room until you defecate. In his book “Lost Rights,” the journalist and libertarian activist James Bovard listed some of the signs the courts have approved as showing “reasonable suspicion.” Among them:

  • Being the first person off a plane
  • Being the last person off a plane
  • Someone authorities believe has tried to blend in to the middle of exiting passengers
  • Booking a nonstop flight
  • Booking a flight with a layover
  • Traveling alone
  • Traveling with a companion
  • People who appear nervous
  • People who appear “too calm”
  • Merely flying to or from a city known to be a major thoroughfare in the drug pipeline
