From Wirecutter…

Red eyes, fever, uncontrolled vomiting of black blood, sloughing off intestinal tissues, fulminating liver failure, brain damage, veins bursting, and liquefaction of tissues are some of the horrendous symptoms of Ebola.

Richard Preston said that Marburg has an effect on humans as if they were exposed to radiation – connective tissues, intestines, skin are affected, hair dies at the root, radiation-like burns cause skin to peel off hands, faces, feet, and genitals, blown up or semi-rotten testicles.

Why we need to fix St. Louis County

“When I went to St. Louis County, Mo., last month to report on the municipal courts system there, I left pretty overwhelmed by what I saw. (You can read my report here.) I’ve done a lot of reporting on the criminal justice system over the last 10 years or so, and the beat itself can sometimes be pretty bleak. But I don’t ever recall encountering the kind of fatalism, frustration, and despair that I saw on display in those courtrooms.”

“Occupancy permits are just one of the myriad ways in which these municipalities can sap funds from poor people. Basically, if you live in St. Louis County, you’re required to get one for your residents. It doesn’t matter if you rent or own. The police can then periodically make compliance checks (although generally they conduct these checks after they’ve been called to a residence for another reason, like a noise complaint or domestic dispute). If there are more people in your place than your permit allows, they can fine you and each person in your home. Attorneys I spoke to say the regulation can end up being a way to enforce antiquated local laws against unmarried cohabitation, and judging by comments you sometimes hear in courtrooms or from local officials, a way for police and prosecutors to essentially fine people for having premarital sex. You can probably guess which communities are most likely to be subjected to these occupancy inspections.”

“When a local government’s very existence depends on its citizens breaking the law — when fines from ordinance violations are written into city budgets for the upcoming year as a primary or even the main expected source of revenue — the relationship between the government and the governed is not one of public officials serving their constituents, but of preying off of them. When the primary mission of a police department isn’t to protect citizens but to extract money from them, and when the cops themselves don’t look like, live near or have much in common with the people from whom they’re extracting that money, you get cops who start to see the people they’re supposed to be serving not as citizens with rights, but as potential sources of revenue, as lawbreakers to be caught. The residents of these towns then see cops not as public servants drawn from their own community to enforce the laws and keep the peace, but as outsiders brought in to harass them, whose salaries are drawn from that harassment. The same goes for the judges and prosecutors, who also rarely live in the towns that employ them.”

How would you like the police and courts doing this shit in YOUR city?????????????????????????????

Moms Demand Action is today promoting this meme:

“On the outfit’s Facebook page, the image is furnished with a caption:

Dmitry Smirnov was prohibited from purchasing firearms because he wasn’t a U.S. citizen. But he was able to buy a handgun from a stranger online at Armslist.com with no questions asked. Less than two weeks later, Smirnov traveled to Chicago and murdered his ex-girlfriend, who he had been stalking. He shot her a dozen times

This is astoundingly, willfully, egregiously dishonest. Every single thing that Dmitry Smirnov did was already flatly illegal. He didn’t utilize any “loopholes”; he didn’t benefit from any ambiguities or exceptions in the law; he wasn’t freed up by a lack of “common sense” prohibitions. He just broke the existing rules.

Let’s go through this methodically:…”

Ebola Patient spent weekend in Akron

The latest Ebola patient in Dallas spent the past weekend in Akron,Ohio.

Great-I live between Akron and Cleveland-Cleveland Hopkins is the airport she flew into, and left from on Mon.

The  plane is currently being decontaminated on a “secluded” runway at Hopkins.

Here we go-Ebola is about to be found in Ohio now.

http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/cleveland-metro/plane-that-may-have-carried-ebola-patient-being-cleaned-at-clevleand-hopkins-international-airport

The clueless dolts at the CDC,and in the rest of our government “leadership” have just caused the next ebola epidemic to be in the U.S.

It’s way past time to ban ALL people who have been in West Africa in the past 6 weeks from entering the U.S.

It’s also time to start worrying about the USA-not the backwards ass people in third world shitholes who refuse to listen to sound medical advice, and by not taking any precautions, they are helping the spread of ebola.

Eventually, the epidemic will burn itself out-there’s no helping those who refuse to be helped.

It is beyond moronic to continue to allow people from W. Africa into the U.S.

The whopping 24 beds we have combined-that’s in ALL the level 4 biocontainment facilities that exist in the U.S. are going to be full just from the nursing staff  and other workers at the Dallas hospital.

What happens when patient number 25 shows up? Another clusterfuck like in Dallas? Then a full-blown epidemic here?

Do these idiots who are supposed to be our “leaders” just not understand exactly how dangerous ebola is? Death rates from past epidemics varied between 40-90% fatal-the latest is probably over 70% because people are afraid of their government and of western medicine-so they do not report family who has ebola.

The ER’s in the U.S. are filled with overworked staff, and hordes of people with nowhere else to go for medical care-thanks to the wonders of the PPACA-better known as Obamacare.
How many people will they send home with a diagnosis of “the flu”, because they can’t tell flu cases from ebola cases, and by the time someone who’s puking all over the ER is diagnosed with ebola-it’s already too late-everyone in the waiting area just got infected. Mr. Duncan-the douchenozzle who brought ebola to the U.S. was sitting in the ER at the Dallas hospital for several hours-how many more new cases will there be in Dallas?

How many people did the traveling nurse infect? Why the f*ck are medical staff that have treated ebola patients not quarantined for 30 days? Great job by the morons at the CDC for not mandating that all medical staff who cares for ebola patients be quarantined for at least 30 days-the dolts clearly do not fear ebola-that makes them even more dangerous.

As Aesop-(I think?) posted recently-U.S. health care system will soon be overwhelmed between flu and ebola.

Second Dallas nurse infected with deadly Ebola virus

“DALLAS – A second Texas nurse who treated Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan has become infected with the deadly disease, health officials announced early Wednesday.

Officials said the unidentified woman reported a fever on Tuesday and was immediately isolated at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

“Health officials have interviewed the latest patient to quickly identify any contacts or potential exposures, and those people will be monitored,” the Texas Department of State Health Services said in a written statement. “The type of monitoring depends on the nature of their interactions and the potential they were exposed to the virus.”

Time to ban all people who have traveled to west Africa from entry into the U.S. and send all these health care workers who came into contact with Duncan to one of the few hospitals that are actually equipped to handle ebola patients-there are a grand total of 24 beds available in the entire U.S.

What happens when patient number 25 shows up???????????????????????????

Next 3-4 Weeks Are Best Deer Hunting of The Year

Those who live in Ohio,Pa,W.Va,N.Y.Michigan, and Indiana should see the best deer hunting from now until mid-November,as bucks are in pre-rut,and does are getting ready to go into estrous.
Here in NE Ohio the rut usually peaks the first or second week of November, most of the time,it’s the first week.

The last week of Oct. will see does going into full estrous, and the start of bucks seeking and chasing.

Starting the last week of Oct,rattling and grunt tubes can bring bucks running, the key is to not use grunt tubes until you have seen signs of rutting activity in your area. Fresh scrapes are a good sign.

Now is the time to make fake scrape lines near your stand/blind,use a rake,or a garden claw to remove all leaves, twigs and debris from an area at least 2’x3′. make your fake scrapes along field edges that have treelines with branches hanging down at the height of a deer, the overhanging branches are important because bucks lick the branches, and rub their head/antlers on them to spread their scent from the glands located on the buck’s head.

(so the wildlife biologists say) I have seen bucks licking branches over scrapes-I haven’t seen them rubbing their heads on overhanging branches though. That doesn’t mean they don’t do so,just that I’ve never seen it happen.

Back to your fake scrapes-after you have cleared the 2’x3′ or so area, put a few drops of doe in estrous urine in it,some regular doe urine, and some dominant buck scent-Many guys also piss in their fake scrapes,I do,I figure I’ll have to take a leak in the woods anyhow-so why not do it in the fake scrape.

Hang scent wicks with doe in estrous urine between the fake scrapes and your stand/blind,as you are leaving your stand, pick up the scent wicks and take them home with you,re-use them the next day. If you leave them there, the bucks will find them when they pass through the area at night, then ignore them. Only put the scent wicks out when you are hunting.

Once in your stand/blind,rattle every 15 minutes or so,if you have seen signs of rutting activity in your area, start using a grunt tube every 15 minutes or so. I alternate between rattling, doe bleats, and grunt tube.

Days when there’s a breeze,I’ll tie an all white paper towel to a branch/bush/shrub that’s about deer height 20-30 yards from my stand. The white paper towel swinging back and forth in the breeze looks like a does tail to a horny buck, and a lot of times,a buck will walk right up to the paper towel. A few drops of doe in estrous urine on the paper towel helps to attract a buck too.
If it’s legal to use bait in your state/area,it’s a good time to start putting out corn. Use both shelled corn, and cob corn, spread it out rather than putting it in a big pile-this helps reduce chances of deer spreading diseases among themselves. The cob corn helps keep deer at the bait pile longer. Don’t worry if all you see are does eating your corn-bucks are looking for does,so having does close to your stand can only help.

As the rut heats up,sit in your stand during daytime,as bucks are moving constantly this time of year, and most really big bucks are taken between 10am and 3pm.

Bring plenty of food, water,a thermos of coffee, binoculars if you have a clear view for any distance, and dress in layers as temps can go from upper 20’s/low 30’s to 70+ this time of year. I bring bug spray as well, sometimes the bugs can be bad in fall.

The weather was in the 70’s for Ohio’s doe only early muzzleloader season last weekend,so I didn’t bother to go,venison just tastes nasty until temps are going down enough to frost at night. We had frost here Sun am,so it’s getting cold enough to improve the taste of venison,a few more good, hard frosts will do the trick.

I like to shoot the does for my freezer after end of November,or when it’s under 40 for daytime highs.

This is the time of year to take big bucks,so I pass on shooting does, and just concentrate on bucks for now.

Good luck to everyone-get in the woods-now’s your best chance at a big buck.

A Better Way To Care for Ebola Patients?

This company claims it’s product keeps the patient totally isolated from healthcare workers.

In September 2008, William “Dub” Lawrence watched helplessly as a Davis County, Utah, SWAT team shot and killed his son-in-law after the man had a mental breakdown. To Lawrence, the police team acted rashly. He thought they needlessly escalated the situation, were too quick to opt for force, and were too quick to move on to lethal force. It’s hard to fathom what it must be like to see a family member gunned down, but for Lawrence, the incident was particularly crushing because back in the 1970s, he was elected sheriff of Davis County. And he started the SWAT team that he later witnessed killing his son-in-law.

Today, Lawrence is part of a police reform movement in Utah that has posted some surprising legislative victories. Most notably, Utah is now the only state in the country with a SWAT transparency bill — police agencies with SWAT teams must report how often they use the units, for what purpose, what tactics were used, what was found, and other information about these raids. (Maryland passed a similar law in 2011, but the legislature allowed it to expire this year.)
