NYC-Blizzard2015

Old America, the land of the free and the brave is gone.  In a media-fed Panic, Cities shut down, transportation is closed, and America shows the world we are affrighted souls that will cower before a Winter snow.

Once upon a time in a faraway place called Chicagoland, there were two seasons of the year that were always inevitable.  Everyone knew they would come, and everyone knew they had to deal with them.

They were the dreaded seasons of Winter and Road Construction.

To date, these are two seasons that even the nonsensical hype of global warming and “climate change” cannot affect.  In fact, I have discovered that in most urban and big city areas, these two seasons are like peanut butter and jelly.  One will follow right after the other.  Once upon a time in America, you shrugged your shoulders, perhaps you cursed, you rolled up your sleeves or windows and you slogged through both of those…

This is the home of the GENetic Engineering Risk Atlas, or GENERA, which is a searchable database of peer-reviewed research on the relative risks of genetically engineered crops that includes important details at-a-glance. GENERA is a project of Biology Fortified, Inc., which is an independent tax-exempt nonprofit organization devoted to providing factual information and fostering discussion about issues in biology, with a particular emphasis on plant genetics and genetic engineering in agriculture.

Biology Fortified, Inc.

GENERA is a project of Biology Fortified, Inc. (BFI), an independent non-profit organization incorporated in Middleton, Wisconsin, USA. The Atlas concept, layout, and programming was conceived, designed, and implemented by BFI, which maintains the Atlas as a free public resource. BFI is independently funded – for more information see the Funding section below.

History

The GENetic Engineering Risk Atlas started as a list of studies to show people how much research has been conducted on genetically engineered crops. We soon realized that the world needed something better than a list, so we developed GENERA to be a searchable database that would make it easier for people to find and understand the research. In the future, we plan to expand GENERA to include research on animals, fungi, microbes, and from additional sources and disciplines. Learn more about the history of the project on our History page.

Funding

Biology Fortified, Inc. is an independent tax-exempt nonprofit orgnization. The majority of financial support comes from individual personal donations, and some support comes from grants. BFI is not supported by any companies, government entities, or political parties.

In the summer of 2012, BFI won a peer-reviewed Education Foundation Grant from the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) for the proposal, “Communicating Risk with GENetic Engineering Risk Atlas (GENERA).” This $10,000 grant supports our efforts to stimulate accurate science communication, a goal shared by ASPB. However, because Biology Fortified, Inc. is independently edited, views expressed on our site might not align with all ASPB position statements and might not be supported by ASPB. The ASPB Grant provided the initial funding necessary to get the GENERA project started.

If you would like to support the GENERA project or Biology Fortified, Inc., there are many ways you can do so, including donations, custom merchandise, and more. Visit the donation page on the GENERA site, or the Support Us page on our main site to find out more.

My last post has blown up in the most epic of manners.  I have gone from barely breaking 10,000 views to now having nearly 15,000, and all from one piece of writing.  Along with that have come a flurry of negative comments aimed at my country, my job, my profession, my comrades, my personal life, and my accomplishments.  There have been some true historians that have attempted to educate me on why I have all the details of what happened in Iraq all wrong (mind you, they never went there), and that Pearl Harbor was our own fault for putting embargoes on the Japanese.  There have been true patriots that have gone about letting me know how corrupt my government is and how we are working for the bankers (while I’m sure they have a credit card, retirement plan, home loan, car loan, and a bank account to begin with)…

Needed Skills to Consider as You Build Tribe

Posted: January 28, 2015 by gamegetterII in Uncategorized

There are many skills that will be needed should SHTF,and we end up in a complete societal collapse-for whatever reason,”terrorism”, currency collapse, government collapse, things spinning out of control leading to civil war, rev. war, insurgency, guerrilla warfare,4GW,whatever term you choose to call it in an attempt to restore order, that are not “tactical”skills.

There still has to be a supply of goods and services, medical care, mechanical repairs, structural repairs-both to homes and buildings, and infrastructure repairs.

There would still have to be manufacturing, farming, raising livestock-be it chickens, hogs or cows, there would still have to be a method and places to process crops and butcher livestock.

There would still have to be a way to transport these goods.

Power generation would be required-beyond your 7500 watt generator-in order to manufacture goods.

Methods of purifying very large quantities of water, and a way to dispose of wastes-both human and trash/garbage would also be required.

In no particular order, here are the most needed skills…

Dr’s,optometrists, dentists, radiolgists, etc. and the techs for the various fields.

Nurses

EMT’s/combat medics

Engineers- architectural,electrical,civil,mechanical,computer/IT,structural,aerospace. (I may have missed a few-but you get the idea)

Chemists

Welders/fabricators

Mechanics

Machinists/CNC machinists/tool and die makers

Carpenters

Riggers

Masons/concrete finishers,plasterers.

Plumbers/pipefitters/HVAC

Operating engineers-(heavy equipment operators)

Draftsmen

Electricians/Electronics repairs

Butchers

Farmers/livestock producers/ranchers

Seamstresses/tailors

Chefs/dieticians/others in food service that have training in food safety

Physicist/biologist,those in biotech, nanotech fields/anyone with solid STEM knowldege.

The more of those fields you have covered within your tribe,group,team-the better off you will be.

Not only will your tribe be more self-sufficient-you will have people with much needed skills, and be in a position to trade that knowledge for stuff your tribe needs or may need-or exchange one of your people’s expertise for the expertise your tribe is lacking.

That is the kind of thing that leads to building networks/alliances.

Something else your tribe needs to have is as all of the tools and/or machinery needed for the various areas/skillsets.

No one can repair anything without tools,no one can build or make anything without the tools and/or machines required.

Just a small shop,if set up properly, can repair or make almost anything-granted a lot of stuff does require special tools or machines-but many of those tools or machines-or a version of them can be made on site.

At the minimum you should have in your shop the following-I’m going by what I have-might explain why I’m always broke…

Drill-electric,cordless,and brace&bits, drill press-with plenty of bits for wood and metals.

Saw-circular,table,miter and/or cutoff, bandsaw, sawzall, jigsaw, hacksaw, coping saw, hand saws for wood, both rip and crosscut. Specialty and spare blades for all that require them.

Sanders-palm and belt+ lots of sand paper.

Air compressor and air tools, including impact driver, cutoff tool, chisel, framing and brad nailers *helpful to have*-sander,paint sprayers.

Angle grinder-plenty of grinding wheels, wire wheels, and cutoff wheels.

Welder-wire feed,arc,cutting torches.

Router and bits *router tables help a lot*

Files,round,flat,half round,triangle,wood rasps,wire brushes.

Hammer-framing,claw,ball peen,engineers,sledge.

Prybars-flat bars,crowbars,spud bars

Chisels-metal and wood-a good variety of shapes and sizes.

Propane torch, plumbing solder+flux, plus tanks of MAPP gas for hotter heat.

Tubing cutters

Glass cutter

Mechanics tools-sockets,ratchets,good set of screwdrivers,combination wrenches-metric and SAE,breaker bars,assorted lengths-(8″-3′)-of 1/2″ steel pipe for increasing leverage when using breaker bars,floor jack,bottle jack,jack stands,creeper-(your back will thank you),double flaring tool,tubing bender,brake spoon,vise grips,channel locks,sidecutters,needlenose,straight and curved,linesman’s pliers,slip-joint pliers,wirecutter/crimper,electrical solder+soldering iron,torque wrench(es),bolt cutters,tin snips,aviation snips,pullers for removing pulleys,hubs,etc,punches,deadblow hammer,rubber mallet,plastic machinists mallet,allen/hex keys,torx keys or bits,inverted torx bits-metric and SAE,assorted specialty bits,fuel line disconnect tools-Ford,Chrysler,GM-and for any foreign shit you own,volt/Ohm meter,OBDII+III reader,C-clamps 1″- 12″,bar clamps,pipe clamps, at least a 6′ workbench with 6″ vise bolted to it. machinists square-4″,6″,micrometers,calipers,machinists scales,X-acto knives,razor knife,putty knives/scrapers,bondo spreaders,Come along+ chain,ratchet straps,recovery straps,rope,tie wire,plumbers tape,teflon tape,duct tape,electrical tape,masking tape,oil cans+oil,penetrating oil,gasket material,RTV sealant-blue and black,engine hoist-(cherry picker to us old guys).

That’s all I can think of for now in the way of wrenching on shit tools.

Other  stuff you need for outdoor work/home repairs…

Shovels-garden, flat,edging,posthole.

Picks,mattock.

Rakes,garden and leaf.

Garden hoe-flat and pointed.

Axes,hatchets,splitting mauls,splitting wedges.

Chainsaw

Concrete saw

Wheelbarrow.

Fencepost driver-*bonus*-does double duty as battering ram.

Floats, trowels, brick hammer,string line,chalkline+chalk.

Staple gun-squeeze and hammer tacker.

Drywall knives/sanding blocks/pole sander/sanding screens.

Paint trays/roller frames/roller covers/paintbrushes-1″ angle,1 1/2″ angle,2″ angle,painters 5 in 1.

Level-2′,4′,linelevel.

Framing square,speedsquare-6″ + 12”

Tape measures-25′,50′,100′.

Toolbelt (s)

Ladders-6′ and 8’stepladder,24 and 32′ extension ladders.

Roof jacks.

*Nice to have*-ladder jacks and aluminum plank(s), pipe threader.

Roofing torch.

I know that’s a big list-it took a whole lot of years to accumulate-and I also know there’s a whole bunch of shit I forgot-pool your resources, and you’ll find out that between the members of your tribe/group-you already have most of this stuff.

Just put the tools together a little at a time, don’t buy cheap made in China garbage-buy good tools and they’ll last a lifetime-you can pay once or pay every time one of the cheap pieces of shit breaks.

Once you have the basics-which is the above list-then you can get other stuff like benchtop lathes and milling machines, plasma cutters,a lift to wrench on cars and trucks,TIG welders, and who knows-before long a 3D printer.

Read.

Learn.

No matter how many threats the left makes about taking our guns from us, our Constitution guarantees us the right to bear arms, much to their chagrin. But Obama and his communist regime will stop at nothing to do just that. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, or DSM-5, which was published in 2013, targets certain internet users as mentally ill – allowing gun confiscation.

Many practitioners point out that the new DSM-5 also makes a pathology out of simple and normal behaviors such as grieving for the loss of a loved one, as the bereavement exclusion was removed in this version of the manual.

Targeting free speech

This constitutes a  subjective approach in diagnosing of mental illness in that it promises to end free speech and any form of political dissent. The federal government has already declared anyone who opposes its unconstitutional policies as having “political paranoia,” which is now diagnosed as a type of mental illness. So if you disagree with the corruption, subversiveness, and lawlessness of Obama and his cabal, you deserve a straight jacket, and it is, once again, grounds for taking your guns. Example here from a previous article.

Vague criteria

If someone is judged, by some vague set of criteria, to spend too much time on the internet, they could be judged to be mentally ill and ineligible to own a gun. The alternative media, which is a fancy way to say conservative media like Uncle Sam’s Misguided  Children, is predicated on internet readership and listeners.

Gun ownership

These groups would be among the first groups to oppose a martial law crackdown, and now they are the first to be targeted. This is a backdoor method to disarm citizens who would oppose the abject tyranny being imposed upon America. And these facts sum up what is truly behind the Obama administration’s latest attack upon gun ownership because they want to prey upon the citizens of this nation by disarming as many of us as possible.

And if you thought it would be any different with some other leftist in power, VP Biden feels that they can violate HIPAA privacy regulations in requiring the states to report who has been treated for a mental illness. Therefore, in the name of confiscating your gun, this administration thinks it is acceptable to violate federal privacy laws.

In the eyes of the Obama administration, all mental illnesses are created equal. A person with a phobia is just as dangerous as a sociopath. One in six Americans have a “diagnosable anxiety disorder.” Under the new proposed guidelines, all of these people would be ineligible to have a gun, even though there is not a shred of research which indicates this population would be inclined towards gun violence any more than any other population.

ODD

But it doesn’t stop at internet users. The Statistical and Diagnostic Manual (DSM-4r) defined Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) as a highly controversial mental illness used to describe children and teens as mentally ill if they exhibited disobedience and defiance.

Most practitioners do not take this diagnosis seriously and mistakenly believed that it would fade away because defiance and oppositional behaviors are hallmark traits of healthy rebellion exhibited by children and teens as they seek independence.

Rather than ODD fading away, the diagnosis has become the tool of the ruling elite. The new DSM-5 has expanded the definition of ODD to include adults who exemplify “paranoid ideation” about the government and frequently express these delusional ideations on the internet.

Political abuse

In its analysis of the political abuse of psychiatry in both the Soviet Union and China, The Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Lawstated that “Psychiatric incarceration of mentally healthy people is uniformly understood to be a particularly pernicious form of repression, because it uses the powerful modalities of medicine as tools of punishment, and it compounds a deep affront to human rights with deception and fraud…”

In psychiatric terms, we have become the old Soviet Union… where we can be incarcerated and stripped of our rights for having the illness of “political schizophrenia.”

There are many things we have to fight within our own government, but this is one of the scariest things I have come across. Not only will they use this as a way to disarm us, but what will come next? Will they use it as an excuse to lock people away? Speak out against your government and it suddenly becomes grounds for incarceration. This is the most blatant attempt to strip us of our 1st and 2nd amendment rights I have seen yet. We, as a free people, had better start doing something to ensure our freedoms before Obama and his evil regime take them all away from us.

If you’re an opponent of gun control, Monday’s Senate Courts of Justice Committee hearing made your day.

A host of proposed curbs on guns, including bills that would have required background checks for private firearms purchases and restored the law restricting handgun purchases to one a month, effectively died Monday when they were rejected by the committee.

The panel also defeated bills that would have made it a crime to knowingly allow a 4-year-old to handle a gun, and prohibited gun possession by convicted stalkers and by people who are delinquent in child support payments.

The same committee, however, advanced bills that would create a lifetime concealed handgun permit and allow permit carriers to bring their weapons onto school property when there are no school events in progress.

The results on most of the bills were not surprising in the Republican-controlled committee. The panel includes Sen. John S. Edwards, D-Roanoke, who generally sides with the GOP and gun advocates against further limits on firearms.

The results did not please Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who began the session pushing an ambitious gun control agenda that included universal background checks and further restrictions on purchases and possession.
