In 2013, the CIA launched a program to aid “moderate” rebels in Syria who would fight both Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Nusra (al Qaeda’s official Syrian affiliate). The opposition has since been expanded to include the Islamic State. The aim was to empower “trusted commanders,” who had to sign written agreements, submit payroll information about their fighters, and detail their battlefield strategies in order to qualify for aid. Those that qualified ended up getting a pittance of aid. One trusted commander got 16 bullets a month for his fighters. Weapons requests routinely took two weeks for approval, by which time any opportunities to kill the enemies were gone, and sometimes requests were denied. One commander got three dozen rifles after requesting 1,000.  One moderate rebel group, Hazzm, captured tanks from the Assad regime, and then couldn’t get cash for shells or fuel. The rebel pay was about half what…

“[T]he gun lobby’s campaign against Murthy isn’t really about his record, or him at all,”

Zoë Carpenter of The Nation told her “progressive” readers last March, meaning Opposite Day warnings should have been in full effect. She was passing along citizen disarmament lobby talking points about why Obama’s nominee for Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, was being opposed by the mean old National Rifle Association.”

“He has … expressed support for limited gun safety measures like a ban on assault weapons, mandatory safety training and limits on ammunition.”

“You know, “reasonable” stuff. What happens when millions of gun owners reply “Hell no” and salivating citizen disarmament zealots let slip the dogs of war to bend us “ammosexual gun-humpers” to their will is left unstated, but the results would no doubt represent the pinnacle of “progressive common sense,” not to mention be a “progressive public health model” triumph – keeping that Opposite Day truism in mind, of course.”

The “gun violence” is a disease, and must be addressed by .gov inc. via the CDC horsepucky to follow soon-because “if it only saves one child” and “it’s for the children”.

Meanwhile-Blomberg,Shannon Watts, his moms and everytown for gun confiscation continue their state by state efforts to get “reasonable gun control” on state ballots,so draconian civil disarmament laws, disguised as “gun control” may be enacted in state after state.

Currently,Blooberg et-al are the biggest threat-congress an somewhat control Murthy for now.

More than half of women (55.6 percent) participating in a new study commissioned by the National Shooting Sports Foundation said they intend to purchase at least one firearm in the next 12 months. That finding and many others reflect the growing popularity of firearms ownership by women, who represent the fastest growing segment of the shooting sports.

[D]uring the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show), NSSF President and CEO Steve Sanetti discussed the findings in the new report, “Women Gun Owners: Purchasing, Perceptions and Participation.” NSSF, which owns the SHOT Show, is the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry.

“In the past decade, the number of women owning firearms and participating in target shooting and hunting has soared. This study helps us understand why women are choosing to purchase firearms and accessories and what shooting activities appeal to them most,” said Sanetti.

The study, conducted in 2014, focused on women ages 18 to 65 who owned at least one firearm. Over a third of women in the study were new gun owners, having purchased their first firearm within the last three years. This group of new gun owners, who are primarily between the ages of 18 and 34, reflects the changing demographics among women choosing to own firearms-a change captured visually in NSSF’s new infographic, “Girl Power,” which complements the new report.

“The women’s market is a force in our industry, and manufacturers, retailers and shooting ranges are making changes to their products and services to satisfy women’s tastes and needs. This report will assist anyone interested in knowing more about women’s enthusiasm for and attitudes toward firearms,” said Jim Curcuruto, NSSF Director of Industry Research and Analysis.

Among the report’s findings:

  • The most commonly owned firearm by women in the study is a semiautomatic pistol, with 56 percent of women reporting they owned at least one. Shotguns ranked second, with 50 percent of women owning at least one.
  • Women say their purchases are mainly influenced by Fit, Quality and Practicality.
  • Women purchasing a gun in the last 12 months spent on average $870 on firearms and more than $400 on accessories.
  • The majority of women report they are not driven to buy a gun on impulse but rather considered their purchase for months before deciding.
  • Nearly all women (95 percent) have tried target shooting, and more than half (58 percent) have hunted.
  • More than 42 percent of women have a concealed carry permit for their state of residence.
  • Nearly three-quarters (73 percent) of women reported having taken at least one training class.

Placing a premium on safety, women say the single most important reason why they decided to purchase or own a firearm is protection-both personal and home protection. Learning to hunt and going shooting with friends and family were also cited.

The report shows women are attracted to shooting activities such as practical pistol, clay target shooting, long-range shooting and plinking; they were not as active, however, in gun collecting or 3-gun and cowboy action shooting.

Growth of the women’s market is quite visible among firearms retailers. In NSSF’s Annual Retailer Survey, more than 74 percent of retailers reported an increase in women customers in their stores in 2013 over 2012.

According to the National Sporting Goods Association, female engagement in target shooting grew 60 percent to 5.4 million participants between 2001 and 2013, and was up 85 percent for hunting to 3.3 million participants during that same period.

NSSF’s “Women Gun Owners” report is available to NSSF members and to media by request.

The Reason Eastern U.S. Coyotes Kill So Many Deer

Coyote-wolf hybrids, or coywolves, are moving a little closer to Chicago each year and may be present in the Chicago area in as little as three years.

Coywolves are offspring of coyotes interbreeding with eastern wolves. The coywolf is an increasingly dominant species with already a significant presence in the northeastern United Sates and Canada – including urban areas like Toronto, Boston and New York.

The coywolf population has been expanding a little westward each year in both Canada and the United States and already have a documented presence in western Ohio with sightings having also been reported in Indiana.

Coywolves quickly become alpha predators in the geography they occupy, combining the resilience and adaptability of coyotes and the social hierarchy, cooperation, larger size and pack hunting traits of eastern wolves.  Like coyotes, coywolves prosper in suburban and urban settings because of abundant food sources which include rats, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, geese and garbage. Unlike coyotes, which typically only feed on deer carrion, coywolves are able to hunt and bring down deer because of their pack hunting capabilities.  The significant deer population throughout the United States is thought to be part of what is fueling the coywolves expansion westward. Coywolf expansion.

Coywolves were first documented in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario in 1919. As wolves were exterminated throughout the United States and large parts of Canada, Algonquin Park was one of the last refuges of eastern wolves. Eastern wolves began to adapt to low populations by interbreeding with coyotes. Over subsequent decades, coywolve distribution gradually expanded in Canada and into the northeastern United States.

Like coyotes, coywolves tend to be quite wary of humans and generally are not expected to pose any additional threat to people in the Chicago area. Coywolves may already be present in Illinois, and if not already present in the Chicago area, are expected to establish a population in the area in the next several years. Once a coywolf breeding population is established, natural resources would expect coywolves to become more and more dominant over time.

Start hunting and/or trapping these ‘yotes now,or there will be no deer left in a few short years.

The ‘yotes around here already hunt in packs-the number of deer they kill is only going to go up unless a serious effort is made to control the population.

I’m sure the Center for Biological Diversity is already trying to get them on the endangered species list to protect them as a subspecies of the gray wolf.

If you like deer hunting, and venison, get out there and put a huge dent in the numbers of ‘yotes-or there ain’t gonna be any deer left to hunt in a few years.

This one needs to be spread far and wide-and get forwarded to

every hunter you know-Wayne Pacelle’s stated goal is to first ban ALL hunting, one state at a time, then for everyone to become vegans-eating animals is bad for mother earth/GAIA-or maybe it’s bad for the giant rainbows and unicorns on whatever planet it is that they live on.
If only they could ban guns-then their utopia of rainbows, unicorns, puppies, butterflies and kittens would become a reality-everyone would be vegan-and unemployed-unless they plan to sell unicorn farted happy gas to fuel cars with to earn money.

The Humane Society of the United States’ mission is to end hunting everywhere, and they’ve never been closer to realizing this goal than they are today. Can hunters shut down their scheme?

The Muck Boots Company waded deep into a quagmire this summer and emerged on the other side soiled, smeared, and worse for the wear. The outdoor footwear company announced via Facebook on August 1 that the Muck Team had raised more than $2,000 for the Humane Society of the United States. Its customer base of farmers, ranchers, and hunters went ballistic.

One customer identified HSUS as “the sworn enemy of hunting and the outdoors lifestyle.” Scores more declared they would never again buy a Muck product. A #WhatTheMuck hashtag lit up Twitter. When the dust settled, it turned out the announcement was written in error—employees had intended to identify a local animal shelter—but the damage was done.

***************** “None of those shootings would have been stopped by background checks, said Johnson, the key opponent of last year’s bill.”*********************************************

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — Fresh off a victory in Washington state, a leading gun control group backed by billionaire Michael Bloomberg is hoping to make Oregon its next prize in a campaign to require gun sales to go through universal background checks.

Everytown for Gun Safety backed a voter-approved initiative in Washington last year that made the state the 17th in the country to expand background checks past the federal standard applying only to licensed gun dealers.

“This is our top priority,” said the group’s spokeswoman Erika Soto Lamb.

The organization came out of a merger last year between Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. It has been spending tens of millions of dollars on political operations.

Now its attention is on Oregon, where the state Legislature narrowly failed to pass legislation two years running to require background checks for private gun sales.

According to state records, Everytown spent nearly $600,000 on the 2014 election — $450,000 in contributions to candidates and committees, and $110,000 on other grassroots efforts.

Part of that was devoted to strengthening the Democratic majority in the state Senate, the key battleground.

Democrats ended up expanding their majority by two seats to 18-12 in the Senate. The party holds a stronger majority in the House. Gov. John Kitzhaber, a Democrat, is a longtime supporter and is expected to sign the bill if it passes.

“There’s a loophole there that can be closed,” said Lamb.

Oregon voters extended background checks to require them for sales at gun shows in 2000.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Sen. Floyd Prozanski, D-Eugene, plans to introduce legislation to expand that to private gun sales. The bill would require anyone selling a gun privately to call state police for a background check on criminal history and mental illness. It would exclude sales among family members, inheritances and antique guns.

“I want to put closure on the only loophole we have on the background check law,” said Prozanksi, a native Texan who owns a few guns. “Most all of us gun owners, as well as the general public, believe we should take reasonable steps to stop felons from getting easy access to guns. This will do that.”

Opponents include Democratic state Sen. Betsy Johnson of Scappoose and the National Rifle Association.

“The NRA is not privy to the specifics of the legislation, but Oregonians should not be fooled by the rhetoric from out of state gun control groups funded by New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg,” NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker said in a statement. “They are pushing an extreme anti-gun agenda that seeks to curtail Oregonians’ constitutional right to self-defense.”

Under federal law, background checks through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System are required for sales by licensed gun dealers, but not at gun shows or private transactions. The checks target convicted felons, people under indictment, the mentally ill, drug users, people under restraining orders, dishonorably discharged veterans and people in the country illegally. But not all states report mental health records to the system.

About 40 percent of Oregon households have guns. And the state has had its share of horrifying shootings.

In 1998, Kip Kinkel went to his high school in Springfield with guns his parents bought to teach him to shoot. He opened fire on the cafeteria, killing two and wounding 25.

In 2012, three days before the deadly Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting, Jacob Tyler Roberts took a stolen semi-automatic AR-15 rifle to the Clackamas Town Center mall outside Portland, where he killed two people and wounded one before killing himself.

Last June, high school freshman Jared Michael Padgett took his brother’s assault-style rifle to school. He killed a student and wounded a teacher before killing himself.

None of those shootings would have been stopped by background checks, said Johnson, the key opponent of last year’s bill.

“It puts law abiding citizens at a significant disadvantage,” she said. “And it does not touch the problem, which in most cases involves severely mentally ill, disaffected, alienated young people causing mayhem.”

These people will never, ever stop-unless we allow them to attain their goal of a complete ban on all civilian ownership of firearms.

They are going to keep doing this shit state by state, and every state that they succeed in passing “universal background checks” and/or “safe storage” laws,CAP laws, banning “assault rifles” and on and on-we will have no gun rights.

Gun owners  HAVE to get involved,we have to stop these people, they have succeeded in finding a weak point-and they are going all out with their offensive. So far, they won in Washington state, and are working on Nevada,Oregon and Vermont, and they will keep going, even if they lose in one state-they are just going to go down their list, putting as many as they can in the W column.

They know they can’t get this bullshit passed in DC,that’s why they’re going state by state, and going all out with their propaganda campaign before gun owners even find out they have filed the paperwork to get this horsepucky on the ballot.

Anyone who lives in any of the states that Bloomberg and Ms. Watts attack needs to get everyone they know to call, write, and e-mail their state representatives as soon as it’s discovered these enemies of the Constitution and our rightful liberty are trying to impose these draconian measures on others because of their hoplophobia, and their dreams of everything suddenly being rainbows, unicorns, puppies and butterflies if they could just ban guns.

The rest of the states on their hit list…

The Real Terror Threat

From Zerohedge…

While Islamic terrorists are scary, other threats are much more dangerous.

For example, while the government has hyped the threat of terrorists causing a power outage, the numbers tell a different story:

Why isn’t Homeland Security going after public enemy number 1?

Editor’s note; Over the last four weeks, reporter Rachael Van Horn has been doing research into why some local physicians offices and hospitals now include a question about gun ownership. The questions is included between questions related to health history. The question is generally asked, if it is asked at all, while the patient is in the exam room and typically by a nurse who is inputting health history information into the patient’s personal health information file or on a computer. It is not asked at all physicians offices here.

Van Horn has been searching for the origin of the question, why it is being asked and since this information is being collected and most times by physicians who care for Medicaid and Medicare patients, what is being done with the information once it is collected.

The story is protracted and will be a continuing series as more information becomes available. We want to offer readers some answers about just why this question is almost always now, routinely included on programs created by healthcare information software companies who market worldwide to healthcare facilities and physician’s offices.

Like many people over the last several weeks, Angela Squibb of Woodward caught a small case of the flu and when her symptoms didn’t subside, she went to the doctor.

“But what surprised me, was that while they were taking my medical history, right after they asked me if any of my family had a history of cancer, diabetes etc . . . then they asked me if I had guns in my home,” Squibb said.

According to Squibb, the question made her uncomfortable.

“I felt like if I refused to answer the question, they would just make the assumption I had guns and so I just said no. I felt it wasn’t any of their business and I didn’t see how it applied to me having a cold,” she said.
